    @ZandZ:  I think your set is exciting!  FI and I were going to def match our wbands, and they would be basically plain but with inscription, so it was between the first and third choice on your poll.  No gems.  Just solid bands w/ inscriptions is our hopeful goal.

    I don’t know if you recently got married, but, either way congrats!

    I’m not getting a plain gold band, but I am getting a non-gemmed one, and I think it definitely is in the category of “out of the ordinary.” I’ve just ordered it from an artisan on Etsy, it’s mokume gane!

    Here’s the ones we’ll probably be getting. Simple, but a little unusual.

    I either want a plain band or something engraved. Still haven’t found anything that strikes me enough yet! Look forward to seeing some on this thread. 🙂

    ZandZ Aw thanks! I don’t know, he’s tentatively picked one that’s a bit different and has a “manly” leafy motif. I think mine will look kind of like woodgrain. So there’s that thematic connection, lol. But frankly I’m not sure if he’s going to wear one at all, he finds rings incredibly uncomfortable :/

    Jabberwocky Those look really cool, what are they exactly?

    I love simple wedding bands!  Each to their own, but the blinged-out ones are way too much for me and take away from the e-ring.

    I’m using my grandmother’s wedding band, which is just platinum and engraved – it looks a lot like this.

    My FI wants a wooden ring and I managed to find this cool mahogany one for $100.

    ZandZ Yup, he already wears his woodgrain-looking silver “engagement ring” on a chain 🙂 The one he wants as a wedding band (also silver) is this (sorry if I’m getting off-topic, but I guess my FI’s ring is gemless too, lol)

    @Jabberwocky:  Details?  Love this!

    Im going to be looking for a non-gemmed wedding band.  I keep flip flopping between plain and filigree / engraved, though!

    We’re getting semi-matched rings made by the “lost wax” process . . .

    We have the plain traditional bands. Growing up, that’s all I ever saw, so I guess to me, those say ‘married.’ I’ve been looking a bit for a garnet/red CZ half-eternity ring to go with my plain band though for when I feel like a bit of colour – my engagement ring is a garnet but I won’t be wearing it on a daily basis. Mostly though, I don’t like the look of all the bling a lot of people seem to have (but to each their own).

    We haven’t gone shopping yet, but he has always wanted a plain gold band, and he wants ours to match. Lately I’m coming around to the idea rather than wanting something with more sparkle.
