Thank you, bees. This is all very helpful!
Do I need to worry about photo flashback even if the wedding is during the day and in well lit rooms?

After I wiped all the eye makeup off, some of my friends told me that they thought the made up face did look better in photos compared to my usual face. I tried taking similar photos to compare and the makeup done by the MUA did look better once I wiped off all the eyeshadow and eyeliner.
I don’t want to be stressed out the day of the wedding or spend a lot of time and effort in perfecting my technique as I don’t wear any blush or highlighter so I think I’ll leave that to the experts and I’m gonna give it another shot with some variations.

I don’t think you look drag queenish at all. I did airbrush for my wedding and it did look heavy if you were to look really closely, but it was stunning in photographs and in person. I think professional makeup makes a world of difference, but it is certainly not a requirement if you are uncomfortable with it. I would suggest showing your MUA pictures of exactly what you want and say you are going for a “no makeup” look with maybe one feature (eyes or lips perhaps) that is just a bit highlighted.

Thank you! That’s exactly what I’m planning to do. I can do my eyes and lips by myself easily and she told me I’d need my own lip gloss to reapply anyway so I’ll just ask her to focus on my face. I do like the look of the foundation in photos and no one is going to be photographing/seeing me so up close like that. I had taken a photo and zoomed in to it which is probably what made it look so bad and cakey.
I also noticed that as the day went on, the makeup looked less whiter. It just looked whitish soon after it was done. And after 3-4 hours in some warm weather, it started to wear off and look oily and clumpy. But since I’m getting married in October, it’ll be a lot colder and I’m hoping it’ll last a little longer than that. I only need it to last 4 hours after the makeup is done.

I wear zero makeup day to day. I went with airbrush and it felt and looked extremely natural. I would go with a different MUA. Even with normal makeup, a talented MUA can make everyone look beautiful.

I love this makeup look, she did a great job! I only wear mascara on a daily basis and really want to just look like myself, but better, so I’m a bit anxious about the whole wedding day makeup. I’m going to do a trial soon so that I have time to go with someone different if I don’t like it.

yes, flashback can occur any time a flash is used.
