I just ordered my wedding band and I am SO excited! I wasn’t sure what to get to go with my e-ring, and this was totally not what I expected to want, but I love it… Here’s my e-ring:
and here’s my wedding band:

You might not think they go together at first, since the e-ring is so sleek and the band is art deco, but it makes a lovely contrast that I think is tied in by the circle shapes in the band. I wish I had a picture of them together!
Anyone else have a neat, unexpected e-ring/wedding band combination?

I like it – The band makes the ring sparkle more. I’m going for a totally different band and I plan to wear the band on an every day basis and the ring for special occassions. My ring is a square shape and not bands will match it.

Mine match, but I’m kind of afraid that the two together will be a scary amount of bling. My original plan was to wear the wedding ring for everyday, the e-ring for special. My next plan was to wear the e-ring on my right hand, cause I would miss it sooooo much if I didn’t wear it. Of course, my experience with the e-ring is that it took less than a month to get totally used to the sparkle, so probably the two together will look normal to me pretty quick.

mine do not match at all- but they go together.
My engagement ring is a bit more modern and sporty. but i really wanted to play up something more delicate and feminine for the wedding band.
at first when i explained my thoughts to my boyfriend and my family – they couldn’t picture it- and thought i was off my rocker. But I carted them up to jewelry store to see it- WOW- then they got it and so how nice the contrast was.

I am going with just a simple 2mm white gold band. My e-ring is a unique shape and design so nothing we have found so far matches. I love my e-ring so much that I hinted that I might want to just keep wearing it alone after the wedding. Supprisingly my fiance was completely supportive. He said that it makes sense with my job. I work in an industrial enviroment so I will have just a simple band for the days I am on the plant floor and my e-ring alone for everyday wear. My fiance said a ring is a ring- it carries the same message whether I am engaged or married… not that he has anything to worry about anyways!

mtyf- Those look amazing! So unexpected, but very cool!! The circles really do tie it in!
We got my e-ring over the summer at an art fair! It’s a simple sterling silver ring with a pink tourmaline stone. FI was just starting grad school and accumulating a boatload of loans, so we decided to get a simple ring now because people were asking (why doesn’t anyone believe you’re engaged (or think FI’s a bum) if you don’t have a ring?!), and do something more elaborate when we got our bands. We’re about to order them…he wants to do a titanium ring with a wave inlay, and I found a tension setting with a wave inlay, too! We’ll use one of my grandmother’s diamonds. My e-ring will become a right-hand ring. π

Thanks for all the comments! I’ll be sure to post a pic of me wearing them both when the band comes in in a couple of weeks… Feel free to do the same – I’d love to see them!
Sounds like a lot of people are doing non-traditional things with their rings, which is cool. Before we got engaged I totally considered not having one at all, and spending the money instead on something we both could enjoy (like travel). But then, sigh, I bought into the wedding machine. We had been together for so long before getting engaged (almost 11 years) that I almost felt like I needed the ring to symbolize this change in our relationship. Silly huh?!

I just remembered that I had promised to post a picture of my
wedding ring and e-ring together! Here it is, please ignore the hairy
knuckles π
Hm, hopefully it doesn’t show up quite as large as it looks right now… I’ll post and see!

Mine are different stones but I LOVE it. The sapphire is brightened by the diamonds and the diamonds give the sapphire a pop.
