@gingerkitten:  The lovely @MlleFabuleux is in the UK I think so it will be a few hours before she wakes up and dashes to her computer to check the boards. (Wait, that might just be me who does this.)

Is there are particular colour you’re after? Fabric? May I ask what size your mother is?

@gingerkitten:  My mom got a nice bridesmaid dress from Alfred Angelo and the seamstress got extra fabric to make a little bolero to go with it. She looks AWESOME and is so excited and feels pretty in it. Definitely don’t rule out nice bridesmaid dresses that can be altered to be more modest.

@gingerkitten:  A seamstress can even add sleeves. That was one of our options! My mom just happened to like the bolero. Good luck!

@gingerkitten:  So I know you said you don’t like the dresses with the exact matching little jackets, but are y’all completely against like a lace bolero/shrug? It’s stylish and can be super adorable plus jazzes up a less ornate dress.

Are you only shopping in bridal shops, or have y’all tried “regular” stores? My Maid/Matron of Honor actually got her dress from Macy’s. It’s a beautiful cocktail dress, and she got it on sale! Bonus!

This is the dress my mom got. It’s a Bill Levkoff bridesmaid dress. We added the appliqué shown on the waist in this picture (I had amother bee photoshop it on the picture). We really liked it because it was young looking but not too young and it fit so beautifully

I too was going to suggest a non-bridal store.  My mom wore a dress she already owned.

My opinion is that long sleeves and long dress is really hard to do in a stylish way, not because you need to show skin or you need to be sexy all the time, but because it’s hard to find a dress with good balance that is all cover. i would try to find a dress either to the knee, or with short sleeves. however, i did find these that i think would be appropiate:

i know this is not long, but how about? very stylish
