i am having a photobooth at our wedding in austin, and as i’m looking through typical photobooth shots, i see a lot of fake moustaches, “silly” glasses, and sports equipment. i dont think any of this is cute or funny and i’d like to find some more creative ideas for background and props. has anyone had any experience with this?
thanks so much yall!

How about props or backgrounds from famous paintings/pieces of artwork? For example, American Gothic or the Mona Lisa.

I don’t know much about it yet, but I think we’re having a green screen background! Probably going to go with something fantasy-themed related to the kinds of nerds we predominantly are. I want capes, fake swords, axes, shields, tiaras, and crowns at least… probably going to stock up before Halloween.
If you have any particular interests you can theme it around that. Maybe get some version of your favorite animal to pose with. I think feather boas are fun. And fezes.

@ladyamalthea: Ooo that sounds awesome. Stock up after Halloween, you’ll get it on the cheap!

You could do a fall theme and get rakes and leaves and trees and maybe a sap bucket (from VT here so we tap our trees for sap HAHA)… You could get pumpkins or do something totally oposite and get blow up sea animals or something. Or a chalk board that they can write stuff on and take a picture with that.

Maybe just have people use the photobooth as is, no props or anything. You can see everyone’s funny, laughing, romantic faces and poses without the obstruction of props and the photos will still come out amazing!

Our wedding is the same day as the Kentucky Derby so we’re rolling with that. Fun hats and fascinators for the women and colorful clip on bow ties for men. We might even get a couple of those stick horse toys as props too. Whatever you do, I guarantee your guests will have fun with it!

You could have some sort of wedding background, but people love photobooths and most don’t have props.

Chalk board where they write well wishes. Backgrounds could be walls made of ballons or ribbon strands

I’m doing a photobooth for my son’s wedding this month. We’re going for a plain calico stretched background (it has to cover a parish notice board which cannot be taken down) and there will be chalkboards for people to write personal messages if they wish. We will have some props (including empty picture frames in the wedding colours) but there’s really no need to supply moustaches or hats if you don’t want them. Plenty of people are likely to be just as happy having their pictures taken without.

Don’t know if this is what you’re looking for in terms of being “different” but I loved the idea of a slow motion photo booth!

I’ve seen some super cute signs that say things like, “Just here for the beer!” and “Still single” or things like that. Pretty funny IMO!

We had some random hats, and white board speech bubbles that people could write messages in. Not super creative, but I was very against the moustaches and glasses stuff as well! We got some really fun pictures out of it.
