I’m a UK bee, just starting my wedding planning 🙂 Fi and I will be having a civil ceremony as neither of us are religious and for us it wouldn’t feel right to start our married life saying things we didn’t fully believe in. A civil service is the only other option, and by law this is not allowed to have any religious references (any religion), so no prayers, or readings/songs that reference any deity. My dilema is this, I am very musical and I just can’t imagine getting married without a good old sing song as part of the ceremony. I’m struggling to think of any suitable songs that I would be allowed to use though that the majority of people would know to be able to join in. I guess that is the benifit of hymns – that everyone learns them at school! Anybody got any suggestions?
