I have a non smart phone!  I’ve had it for a few years now.  Verizon keeps tellign me I’m eligible for a new one- but I hate to sign up for a new 2 year plan just to get a phone for free.  I am also cheap and don’t want to have to buy the data plan which you need with a smart phone!  But I don’t have any recommendations.  Sorry!

I don’t have any recommendations but I too do not have a smart phone.  I refuse to pay for the data pack when I know I won’t use it as much as most people.  I’m on the computer all day, I don’t want to be on my phone all night!

Ha ha and my phone is like 4 years old too.  I am on Verizon, I actually went into their store to pick out a new phone, but I can’t stand the employees at the one by my house.  So then I decided I’d get one online, and well, that hasn’t happened yet!  Oops!

I have a not-so-smart phone!  I use it to text and phone. Nothing else – no data/internet or anything fancy like that. Not even voicemail actually (though I do have the option)

I have a Samsung phone through Rogers (which I think is only a Canadian company) and it looks fancy like is SHOULD be a smart phone, but it’s not.  I got it free when I got my plan, and I’ve dropped it and covered it with mud and dirt at work so many times that the screen is scratched up, but it still works perfectly.

I’m afraid if I did get a smart phone it’d break when I dropped it for the first time ( because I will drop it)

I don’t have a smart phone! I don’t know if you’ll be able to get one though. It’s called a Motorola Hint. It kinda looks like it’s a smart phone, but it’s not.

Edit: Oh, but if you can get one, I do recommend it. It cute and easy to use. It also has a full keyboard for texting, which is nice. I’ve had it for over two years and it’s still goin’ strong!

Me me me!!! I hate the idea of being tied to a data plan you can’t drop if something bad happens financially. I still have my trusty LG Env3 through Verizon. All I do is call and text…what a phone is actually for. 🙂 I’ve actually been eligible for an upgrade for over a year, but don’t really like any of the non-smartphones available, so I just haven’t done anything yet.

Every once in a while I start to fantasize about the I-Phone, but then I think, really, do I need to be THAT connected all the time???

I have a non-smart phone and I’m holding out for as long as possible on replacing it.  It’s already two and a half years old, but the battery still lasts for over a week, which just shows how much I use (or don’t use!) the thing.  A smartphone would be a waste of money for me, but I haven’t seen any non-smartphones that I actually like enough to replace it.

@cleve_girl01: Me too! My wireless provider doesn’t have iPhones, but they do have Droids, and every once in a while I’m like “I’d really like to have one of those…” but then I remember I don’t use Twitter, I don’t use Facebook…all I do is call and text. So it would just be a giant waste of money. I bet smartphones with all those apps are fun, but for me it’s just unnecessary.

Darling Husband didn’t want anything to do with a smart phone, but Sprint doesn’t really have any.  Since we already have a data plan he went with the blackberry and loves it.  It was the easiest to use for him who cannot even figure out how to turn on a computer.

I have a non-smartphone.  All I need to do is talk and text.  I’m not willing to pay for a data plan.  I spend most of my time at work or at home and I can use the internet in either place.  That is enough for me.

I had this phone up until last summer but my teenagers talked about me so badly that I decided to upgrade.  I thought I was hip because it was purple but I do concede that a flip phone is so yesterday! lol!

I have this phone now.  It is the LG Cosmos Touch.  It is easy to use and from a distance one might think it is a smartphone. It really is easier to text with a full keyboard!
