Check out Vitamin String Quartet – they do string quartet versions of so many awesome songs! We are using their versions of Coldplay’s “Yellow” and Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years” for ceremony music.

Then the Recessional will be the original version of Smashing Pumpkins “Today” (I lovee the guitar in the beginning).

I’ve also seen someone walk down the aisle to the acoustic version of Foo Fighters “Everlong” which was sweet!

@tommy6_girl9:  i’m one of those annoying indie music hipsters.  i have some songs set aside, here are the big ones i’ll be using:

first dance: toss up:  hysteric – yeah yeah yeahs OR painting by chagall – the weepies

father daughter dance:  toss up:  april come she will – simon & garfunkel OR bronte – gotye

aisle walk: water from the same source – rachel’s (no lyrics)

slide show (yeah we’re going to get corny like that): all of my days – alexi murdoch

recessional:  toss up:  sticks and stones – jonsi OR say heymichael franti & spearhead

@rocknrazzle:  +1, I am using Vitamin String Quartet for the bridal party, but the song is Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror”. I know they are popular for weddings, but it’s still unique and cool to have a mix of traditional instruments doing contemporary songs. VSQ has a huge variety of genres.
