What kind of music do you like?

I always liked the song Brighter than Sunshine by Aqualung – which I thought nobody ever heard of (unless they’re fans of the movie A Lot Like Love), but apparently it’s been gaining popularity in weddings….. but it’s still not a typical song.  By The Way, my fiance and I are going on 10 years as well and we’ve never really had “A SONG” either.

Don’t laugh but a friend I know used Jessica Simpson – Every Day See You – nobody realized who sang it, and it ended up coming out very nice…. I don’t think a lot of people are familiar with her repertoire!  🙂

We did a non traditional first dance song. We wanted something that was us. And that is definently not a country song. We went with an r & b type song called “Differences” by “Ginuwine”. It fit us perfectly.

Here’s one that isn’t on the lists but is DEFINITELY a VERY romantic… tears kinda song. Full of love!

Matthew West “The Day Before You” Darling Husband sang it to me on our honeymoon… he had secretly been learning it. So AWESOME

you can’t find one of Matthew West online anywhere but here’s a Rascal Flatts cover so you can atleast here the lrics. I personally don’t like their cover but like I said you can see they lyrics =)

Matthew West’s version is WAY better… it’s a real heart jerker… he’s the original writer 😉

@Leeshie: That’s our song, so I hope it’s not getting too popular in weddings. We heard a great performance of it in a dive bar with a female singer on one of our first dates, and it was amazing. I hate when songs are overplayed.

OP – Aren’t there any songs that you’ve heard in places you’ve been together in the past 9 years? Something that means something to you? I think when people watching get emotional, it’s reflective of the bride and groom’s feelings, so I don’t know if that happens unless you play something that means something to you as a couple.

As far as setting a mood, I think Adele’s voice is very powerful. Also Sade, By Your Side is an amazing song.

@Sking: Sade – By Your Side is one of our top picks…… it was popular when we first met each other and always brings back those memories.  Aqualung is our other – I just really love that song – I love the words and the meaning…… I hope it’s not getting too popular either!

Thanks!  We’re actually not getting married in November….. we haven’t picked the actual date yet – we’re thinking probably next April but we haven’t signed on the dotted line yet!  I just haven’t changed it on this site!  🙂
