We booked a cottage in the rural Scottish highlands and escaped/chilled for a week. Mixture of walking, mountain climbing, beaches, fishing at sunset etc. Really valued the relaxation time.

Beeee13:  I don’t have any tips, but I’m interested to hear about your experience! Fiance and I are planning on doing a road trip as well, however on the opposite side of the US! We’re driving South from Maine, doing Blue Ridge Parkway, which finishes in the Great Smokey Mtns National Park, then spending a couple of days in Nashville, driving down to New Orleans and then heading back up to Maine!

Hey OP! My bff and I did this (not a honeymoon, obvs), almost the exact same trip! Flew to Portland, stayed in the city for the weekend, then camped our way down through Oregon. We went down the center of the state first (wanted to see Crater Lake–totally worth it, most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen! ), through the high desert, then down the coast and through the redwoods, then to Sonoma for wine tours.

Seriously awesome trip and it was cheap because we camped for most of it. Not sure if you’re into that, but you should do it!

Beeee13:  My Darling Husband and I had a non traditional honeymoon.  We spent 5 days at Beaver Creek resort in Colorado.  We did snow boarding for three straight days and did snow shoeing the last day we were there.  LOL my body paid for it for three whole weeks!  We had fun though, wishing I could go back for our one year anniversary in December!

Beeee13:  We were initally going to do the whole beach resort thing, but since it was in December it was going to be too weird for me lol.  Going from cold, to hot and back to cold weather.  It wouldn’t feel too much like the season.  We got married on 12/13 and it was perfect.  They had Christmas decorations across the whole resort.  It was beautiful!
