I am having an outdoor wedding and we have decided to have the DJ play non traditional music. With lyrics and all this is what I have so far
The bridesmaids will walk to Heavenly Day by Patty GriffinI will walk to
I will be here by Steven Curtis ChapmanAnd then for the recessional
I wanted Wouldn’t it be nice by the Beach Boys
I was very set on my decisions but my sister thinks the beach boys song isnt appropiate because it is more about before you get married. But to me it fits because all our dreams came true, and it is nice because it is reality. So honest opinons, does the music selection work. I just wanted soemthing more upbeat for when we kiss and walk down. Thanks!

I think it’s your wedding and you should have the music that you are most comfortable with. My Fiance and I just went to his cousins wedding in December and they had a tradition ceremony in a church but included non traditional music. We are having the same as you-an outdoor wedding and are definitley considering using non traditional music. Go for it!

I think at this point we’re doing the theme from The Princess Bride for the BM/FG entrance, Edwin McCain’s "I’ll Be" for me, and The Turtles "Happy Together" for the recessional. I think some people will object to some of the lyrics in "I’ll Be" but I don’t care, we love it and it totally fits us.
So, that being said, if you really love the song, I think it’s great! I sincerely doubt anyone’s gonna be going "OMG, that song is SO not right!" It’s upbeat, fun, happy, and has a message you like. Definitely not a bad choice at all!
