When my fiance propsed to me 2 years ago he gave me a unique non-diamond ring.
He said when he’s able to save money he will give me the Diamond ring I deserved. Time passed and I got my engagement ring that he originally wanted to get me.
Well today we went Wedding band shopping for the upcoming Wedding, and I decided to use the first ring he got me, instead of a wedding band. I didtn think there was a need to buy a THIRD ring for me.
Its pretty unconventional, but hey Im an unconventional girl. He thinks a lot of people may not think its a wedding ring, since its not a typical band.
My question is, am I nuts for sticking to the ring that I feel sentimental attachment to? and does anyone here have a non traditonal wedding band?

@Ugoob: Non-traditional meaning non-diamond, or…? I think I might have misunderstood your post. You had a non-diamond ring, but your fiance replaced it with a diamond ring later, right? Are you asking if you should wear the old and new rings together instead of a wedding band, or what?

@Mrs Grape: Sorry for typing in circles, Basically Im asking if Im crazy for wanting to use that old previous engagment ring as my Wedding band.

If it means something to you, that’s all that matters. I think it’s a great idea!

Is it a band? or does it look like an engagement ring?
either way you should do what feels right to you

I think it’s a very sweet and sentimental way to make your wedding set and save money. Any photos of e-ring #1 (now wedding band) and your current ‘new’ e-ring? I’m trying to picture this first ring, if it’s more band-like or more similar to a 3 stone or something. Either way, if you like it and are proud to wear it, then rock it!

@indibee: Sure Pic #1 is the first engagement ring he gave me 2 years go, which I now want to use as a wedding ring.
Pic #2 is my current engagement ring.

Now seeing what they look like, I think that it would be very cool as a wedding set. I like it…especially since it’s already sentimental…I say GO FOR IT!!

Gorgeous and sentimental …. you can’t go wrong!

I love it and think the set would look great together.
Also if you really wanted to I bet you could get a custom design and have the band wrap around the solitaire.
Either way I don’t think you’re crazy at all!

I think those would look great together, my vote is to go for it!
