We are in the same boat. We are in Miami/Ft Ladi, and have been all over the Caribbean. His fam just came back from Hawaii and they said it was different, but just not different enough for a “special” trip. Northern California is AMAZING stateside.  We opted to go to Europe since that was on our couple’s list of things we just were dying to do before starting a family, so it seemed like the perfect time!

What about Montreal if it’s not too far?

What about coming up to Canada?  Somewhere like Whister, BC would be beautiful in Septbemer, although, the flight might be almost as much as to Europe.

How about Lake Tahoe? September is the best time of year to be there. Truley gorgeous with a TON to do.

Or Explore a whole new city like NYC, SF, Austin. All great times of the year to go there.

Or a cabin near a national park like Grand Canyon or Yosemite.

Kennubunkport Maine is also fabulous that time of year as is Newport Rhode Island.

My Fiance and I are going to Europe for our honeymoon, but if we weren’t, and hadn’t been so many times, we would go back to NYC. We both love the city and there are so many romantic things to do. That’s actually where we’ve been on five of our previous anniversaries. It’s really not as expensive as people make it out to be. We found a nice apartment rental in a great neighborhood for only $110 a night. We even had our own kitchen to bring back our goodies for a late night snack.

I love the Bees that suggested Canada. September in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI are Beautiful and you won’t meet nicer people.  My Fiance and I are going to Montreal for our honeymoon just because we LOVE the city and the vibe. Neither of us are “tropical” people so going down south is totally out for us. I think that a lot of people will be surprised at how much Atlantic Canada has to offer as a honeymoon destination (geeze, I sound like a tourism ad).

You could always fly into new York or maine and drive into Canada…that would be cool. It’s rocky and very different. Plus Niagara is worth seeing from the other side, and totally all about corny B&B’s.

An Alaskan cruise would be awesome.

And I still vote for northern Cali with San Fran, Napa, the redwoods… I just love the cool and the fog and the mountains I think!

Another option would be like the Outer Banks in Carolina…or maybe Montauk? Or northwestern Virginia. You could hit the mountains or DC.

We’re probably going to go to Alaska on our delayed Honeymoon. 🙂

I live in Michigan. We were on a tight budget so we went up north to the Mackinaw City/ Mackinac Island area (where the upper and lower penninsulas meet) there are some nice hotels in the city and some resorts including a 4 star hotel on the island. It is very peaceful and romantic up there.  We plan on returning for our 1 year anniversary this June!
