I once saw a bride wear a very dramatic deep red gown and people were ga-ga over it! It was amazing.

I wore 2 colored dresses. It was bridal to me since Im Asian and they are both ballgowns. In US though, the only colored dresses I saw were blush or nude. I think blush dresses are so fashion forward and still bridal. The guests love it.

Just for fun, these were the dresses

my wedding dress is navy blue, everyone that’s seen a picture of it has absolutely loved it.

its lace and long, and I feel more like a bride in it than I ever did trying on a single white wedding dress.

My dress is light gold and dark grey. I’m not married yet so I can’t speak for the reception of it, but I think it’s pretty bridal!

That argument….. Oh. :/ well, there are brides who wear other than white. I actually am going for ivory. My mother tells me I “should” wear white because of being a virgin. That myth….. But honestly no. You don’t need to wear that color on your wedding day. You should be able to wear any color you want 🙂 off white, pink, black, blue….. No need to listen to those myths.

I’m actually going dress shopping next week and can’t wait!!!  😀 so excited! You are going to be “bridal enough” regardless. It’s your big day. Don’t listen to what people say. I did that all my life and I got sick of it. It’s tiring. Do what you think is best. 🙂

lightpainter:  I’m wearing pink. No one knows. I changed my dress a week ago from an ivory white. White just isn’t me and I love my dress. If people hate it, oh well.

There’s a bee around here that wore a beautiful grey gown (Vera Wang for David’s Bridal) that is so beautiful I’m 100% convinced I won’t wear white, ivory, or anything similar. I love wedding dresses with some colour. I wanted a Wai Ching dress for awhile but when we decided to elope I didn’t want to spend that much on the dress, haha.

I’m going to be wearing an ice/pale blue silk wedding dress! I’m having it made. The whole ‘white wedding dress’ thing is a very recent thing, historically a woman wore her nicest dress, no matter the colour. TBH I think going to bridal shops and seeing a sea of white is SO BORING! No offense to those wearing white lol, but I think other colours look much nicer on people- not everyone looks good in white, its a hard shade to pull off.

Champagne with black lace, it went over incredibly well! Definitely felt/looked ‘bridal’ and I’ve heard that jaws dropped when I started walking down the aisle. Got compliments from absolutely everyone from DH’s brothers to the wait staff at the reception.

ilora:  I love your dress. It’s like the ballgown version of mine. We have excellent taste.
