Not dealing with that, but I just wanted to give you a virtual hug.

I’m not dealing with this but my groom is and I just told him my family is his family and to have fun with the people that do come.

Oh, hon.

I spent today composing a similar post in my head.

I’m trying my best to focus on the positive, but it’s hard. My 2 brothers and their families aren’t coming. My father passed away several years ago, so my mom is the only family member to come. I’m cringing about formal portraits. Fiance has 17 family members there; I have one.

It’s so hard not to take it personally, but it helps to think of it this way: to you, it’s one of the most important days of your life. To most other people, it’s a party they’re sorry to miss…but just a party.

Hugs, though.

That sucks. I’m sorry. I’m surprised that no one can make it, it seems a little strange. I would be upset too. (((hugs)))

I’m sorry you are going through this. It stinks when the people you want to be there can’t be. One thing I am learning in this whole process is exactly where I am vs where my friends are in their lives and who/what is important to me. Not to say that your friendss don’t think you are important – they are obviously just in different places in their lives. Sometimes friends outgrow each other…

Aw, hon, I’m so sorry. My groom is dealing with something very similar, and I just found out that my stepsister (who has been very important in my life) isn’t coming. Neither is someone who is like a cousin to me.  Of all the people I thought might decline, I never thought it would be either of those two.  It’s SO depressing.  But I know our weddings will still be wonderful. HUGS!

I’m going through the same thing too. All of my friends are either in Korea or in Indonesia. My Maid/Matron of Honor might not be able to come because of visa problem. One of the BMs hasn’t bought her ticket yet and almost all of my friends here (from grad school) will be leaving for their trip to Asia on my wedding day. So yeah…my list is very very short.

It sucks and honestly I’m was so sad for a while…but I knew things happen and it’s out of my control. The wedding is about you and your groom anyway, it’s the first day of forever so it’s gonna be wonderful nonetheless! πŸ™‚

Both my best friends aren’t gonna be able to come. One is pregnant and her hubby got his pay cut, so they can’t afford it and the other is a LONG story involving extreme selfishness.

In the end, though, I decided it’s not worth it to get upset over it. All that matters is that my Fiance is gonna be there and it’s gonna be the happiest day of my life because I get to marry my REAL best friend πŸ™‚

I totally sympathize. My best friend is having her first child on my wedding date and my brother-in-law is deployed so I’m going to miss them very much at my wedding. All three of my bridesmaids live out of town, as do most of my close friends, many of whom just can’t make it.

It sucks, and it feels a little lonely without your girlfriends, but the day will be spectacular regardless.
