Ok first of take a deep breath.  The wisdom teeth pain usually only lasts a few days, just make sure not to get dry sockets.  The rinse won’t turn your teeth black or anything.   Tomorrow, not today, call your dentist and explain their error and ask them the plan to rectify the situation.

If your wisdom teeth arent impacted why are they removing them? My dentist fixed all of mine since they came in with holes and they are 1mm impacted. He told me we remove way too many teeth that dont need to be removed. Fixing them took 5 minutes! Wisdom tooth removal is nothing but money for your dentist in most cases, and done way too often in the US. I have all of my teeth. Note I am also considered high risk for infections, and jaw breakage if I have them removed. I’ve had 2-3 secondary jaw infections in the 15 years I’ve had the wisdom teeth. All of which were very painful but cleared up with prescriptive mouth wash and 5 days of amoxycillin. There is no risk in keeping the teeth.

Uh I think they owe you more than just another tooth extraction.  You need some compensation for pain and suffering.  I would not go back to the same dentist for any more work after that level of fuckup.

That being said, you have plenty of time to heal from the wisdom tooth extraction before your wedding.  Just be cautious with followup care to avoid complications/infection.  And I’m sure the stain from the rinse is temporary but call and double check if you’re concerned.

@Khalessi3:  If you dont want another find a dentist who will fix the teeth. Older dentists are more likely to fix them than pull them. I have all 4 of mine and they’ve given me hardly any problems. I’m 32 in 2 weeks.

Agh I am sorry… that sucks…I had all 4 removed at the same time. I could not imagine having to go in again a second time. :-/

Ugh, that’s terrible.  Call the dentist once you’ve calmed down, let them know of the mistake, and ask how they’re planning on fixing it!  Obviously they won’t put the wisdom tooth back in, but they shouldn’t be charging you for any other procedures…

Wow that really sucks! I would flip out on them. Do you still have the plan they wrote up? I would surely talk to the insurance and definately a lawyer, just to ask your options. Even if you don’t move forward.

Next, get a new dentist.

Then give it a day or two and tear into them…  that is a massive mistake.

@Khalessi3:  Why did you want a regular teeth taken out because of a cavity?

I have never ever heard of this.. maybe a US thing? Here they fix (bore a hole and fill it with something) cavities on normal teeth. If a wisdom teeth has a cavity, then it is taken out, as they a prone to get cavities and get infected.

Sorry but why in the world would they pull a tooth with a cavity? Just fill it.  I have a few dentists in my family (and have had my fair share of cavities) and I have NEVER heard of them pulling a tooth for a cavity.  Time for a new dentist I think…

Why are they pulling the tooth for the cavity?  My husband has cavities often and they just fill it.  If it’s a really bad cavity, you can get a root canal instead of having it pulled.

I have to agree, why is this guy PULLING cavities? Especially in a child who’s tooth will fall out? It should just be filled. This dentist is a hack and needs to be reported. Please go get checked by another dentist too.
