- Wedding: March 2013
Ok, I knew someting had to go wrong w/only a short Month and 1/2 before my wedding, as it wouldn’t be me, if everything worked out perfectly leading up to.
The dentist, took out the wrong tooth!!!! I had (in hindsight, stupidly) thought, to get a tooth taken care of before the wedding. A tooth that had never bothered me. I have a cavity in it. I meant to remove it last year, but then I lost my health insurance and couldn’t do it.
A month or so ago, I decided to take it out before the weddding, …I am lucky I have not felt any pain from the tooth and knowing my luck it would hurt the day of the wedding or some nonsense.
I went to my dentist specifically to talk about this tooth and it’s removal. They wrote up a plan for me, saying that they would do the extraction first and I told them after the wedding, and around tax seson I would do some of the other stuff.
I have never ever had a tooth removed before. I had quite alot of anxiety surrounding it. I have really good teeth. It’s just one of those things, they are straight and really nice looking. I get compliments all the time. (Weird but true).
so I went yesterday and it was awful, awful awful. I cried.
I got home and just laid on the couch, and dealt with the pain, I hate pain killers, so I only took the 800 grams of motrin and slept. They had to put some stiches in…whatever.
I literally woke up from my nap and sat straight up and yelled “they took out the wrong tooth”!!!
It hit me when I thought about what the nurse said after it was done…she said “You have a bad cavity in the other tooth, what is the plan for that”. I was so shell shocked from the pain/exprience I just said “um I had no idea I had another cavity”?! I thought it was just the one, and kinda shrugged it off.
Once I realized this in my sleep I ran to the mirror and low and behold the cavity tooth is still there, and they took out my one and only wisdom tooth. That I have never had an issue with. They never mentioned it was an issue, and like I said my teeth are straight and narrow, and it’s just not a problem.
2ndly I would of WAITED to do this exraction, as it wasn’t a neccessity before the wedding. Now I’m in shock what to do.
I am so angry!!!!!!!!!
and to make matters worse,
The rinse they gave me to make sure the area stay cleans etc states on the bottle “CAUSES STAINING OF THE TEETH”.
