I make cake balls and they’re delicious (also super easy to make, btw). It would be hard to mess cake balls up, they’re soooo tasty! It would be great ty try out some of the different flavors they have!

I’m amazed that they’re selling them for that price, actually. I can get about 150 cake balls from one $15 batch. Most of the cost is for the dipping chocolate. It might be worth trying to make the different flavors on your own. It would be a delicious experiment. 🙂 Actually, now that I’m reading these new combinations…*runs to kitchen*

@Trixie: I heard of them through bakerella a year or two ago. She has all sorts of adorable cake pop tutorials as well. 🙂

In the FAQ section…

What size are the cake balls?

Our cake balls are about 1.25-inches round, approximately the size of a golf ball. We have found this to be the perfect size to balance the ratio of cake to icing to chocolate coating. When serving at a party, we say that 2 to 3 balls per person are sufficient.

Are you planning to replace wedding cake with this or use them for favors or something else?  So a box of 24 would feed about 8 people (at $55) so that’s about 6.88 a person.  They look awesome, but kind of expensive!

Here’s more info from the FAQ section

Do you do cake balls for weddings?

Yes. We love weddings. We currently offer a 2-piece white box for $4.50 per box. We can also tie the box in a ribbon to match your wedding for an additional .40 per box. Another favor option is our 1-piece cello-bag for $2.85 each. Both options make great favors for your special day. Some other wedding ideas that we’ve done include cake balls as a groom’s cake, in place of a traditional wedding cake or in a dessert buffet. Brides have also passed them on trays with milk or coffee as a late night snack as the reception is winding down. Please contact us by email [email protected] to place an order.

My friend brough cake balls to work two days ago lol!

To make them, all you do is bake the cake of your choise, crumble it, mix in icing and whatever other goodies of your choice, roll into balls, then dip in something. She uses almond bark with chocolate cake/icing and they were delicious! Super easy to make too, I would just diy them.
