One of my best friends is a size 24-26 and I know she LOVES their stuff but it is pretty cost prohibitive for her, so she just has a few nice things from there. She talks a lot about how nice it is that the brand actually makes things that fit her shape and not just a blown up, out of proportion version of a size 2 article of clothing.

I love the few pieces of clothing I’ve bought from there! They seem to be edgier than your regular Lane Bryant or Maurices (both of which have clothing for plus size ladies), and a little more on trend. I don’t have a store here, but I’m sure if I did, I would be shopping there all the time.

I love their jeans! I almost always buy on clearance though so I can usually get them for $20-$30 on a good sale. I have a TON of tops from there too that I use for work that I really love, also all on clearance. If you’re not looking for anything specific you can find some really good deals.

snowflake8 :

38weeks already?!?! Wow!!

I heard so much about Torrid but have not yet bough anything. Actually i was planning on doing this spring to look as summer dresses.. and I hear 2 of their strapless bras are awesome and I’m starting to look for a good bra to wear under my dress (unsure if Ill be adding straps to my dress or not so I need to find a good bra either way) need to make my way down to the Eaton Cente.

I love their jeans! I’m a size 12-14, so I tend to be in this weird place where regular jeans are too snug in the hips, but women’s sizes are baggy in the wrong spots. I’ve found that their jeans and leggings fit my butt and hips without being baggy in the waist or legs. Best of both worlds, somehow. I haven’t had any issues with the quality of stuff I bought, but I did buy everything a few years ago. I’ve only found one top that worked for me, because they expect your boobs to be kind of big and mine are certainly not. ๐Ÿ˜›

One of my best friends is in between regular and plus size clothing- she could fit in either, but her favorite place to shop is Torrids.  She always looks super cute!

My mom shops there and loves it! I actually give her a gift card to there any chance I can when I can’t think of anything else haha. She’s an 18-20 and swears by the Torrid jeans! I also like it for because it helps to keep her dressed more modern considering she’s 55 so not old-old, but not young/hip either haha.

I find the quality is poor for the price. They have some cute things (and I love their skinny jeans, they’re the only ones I’ve found that fit me nicely), but they simply do not last.  I also find the sizing is pretty inconsistent – something to be aware of if ordering sale merchandise online (no returns).

I have spent an obscene amount of money at Torrid! I purchase exclusively online because I can’t stand shopping in a store and it’s just really convenient…. there is a usually a great selection and there are often discounts. You will usually get a nice discount towards your ‘next’ purchase as well.

Seriously, I’m a walking advertisement, and I couldn’t vouch for them harder! The quality can vary a bit but 90% of the time it’s at minimum *good*. I’m partial to their tops over everything else, but I’ve had a bit of nearly everything.

I wear a size 16 so some regular clothing fit me well and some plus size clothing fit me well.  Majority of plus size clothing is too big for me though, but Torrid seems to carry a great selection and takes shoppers like me into consideration.  I shop at Torrid for blouses, dresses, jeggings, lingerie and shoes. I will probably buy a pair of jeans from them in the near future.  I find their prices to be a bit high considering that not all of their items are high quality.  I have found that some items are much more durable and better quality than others.  There is no rhyme or reason in my experience.

snowflake8 :  I love Torrid! I’m a size 16-20 depending on what we’re talking about (16 in tops and dresses that flare, 20 in pants). I mostly buy dresses and tops at Torrid, though. This year I’m hoping to try Torrid swimsuits. My go-to jeans are Levi’s curvy.

I recommend that you go to the store and sign up for Torrid’s membership club (free to you) because then they’ll send you discounts. Just the other day I got their spring catalogue with two discounts ($50 off of a $125+ purchase) and ($30 off of a $75+ purchase) valid for March, in store or online.

thessely :  I also hate shopping in person, but I can confidently say that my experience at the local Torrid has been amazing. Not everything fits the way I want it to all the time (and this is why I go in person versus ordering online most of the time–also this way I can inspect the quality of the material), but the women who work there have a great attitude and seem very body positive and that puts me in a great mood when I am shopping there.

franklymydearidont :  TOTALLY agree with you! I did not mean to imply or knock shopping at Torrid in person per se, in fact, the first time I shopped with them it was at an actual store, and it was my fabulous experience there that had me come back for more (again and again)! For me, shopping online is simply preferred because the nearest Torrid store is located in one of the worst cities of traffic in the world/U.S., and I also just kinda despise wandering malls anyway.

Absolutely recommend them in person or online! Truthfully, not that I’ve ever had a bad experience at Lane Bryant, I prefer the atmosphere at Torrid and the customer service (and clothes and price) there anyway.

thessely :  Don’t worry, I didn’t think you were knocking Torrid…I assumed that you hadn’t had the in-store experience if you did your shopping online, and I just wanted to let you know from one woman who has had many bad shopping experiences to another, that shopping at Torrid has been different in the best way for me. I’m glad that you’ve had the in-person experience, and absolutely you do what is right for you–shopping online is definitely convenient. ๐Ÿ™‚

I totally agree about Lane Bryant too, I haven’t had a bad experience there, but the customer service is not as good as it has been at Torrid, in my experience.
