What is “North” to you? Are you thinking all the way up to Duluth or farther or is central MN Mille Lacs Lake/Brainerd/Alexandria far enough north?

If our budget had been unlimited, I would have liked to have gotten married in Lutsen at the ski resort and chalet. It’s so beautiful up there!

I don’t know too much about northern MN venues, as I’m closer to the cities =/

If you want the north shore, Duluth, Grand Marais, Two Harbors, etc. is a good place to start looking.

As for Mille Lacs area, I know a venue just south of Milaca (probably 20-30 minutes to Lake Mille Lacs) called Northern Lights Ballroom in Pease, MN.  It’s a really neat venue.  Not right off of a lake, but it has the “rustic” kind of feel it sounds like you’re looking for.  Maybe have a ceremony right on the lake and then travel south for the reception?  I don’t think it’s overly far…but if you want a ceremony/reception in one place it may not be what you’re looking for.
