@nonapkns: Haha, yes I have heard that and I can completely see it being a big part of the problem on our cruise. Unfortunately we had such a bad experience, not only with the cruise itself, but with NCL in general. We had complained about our experience afterward (and believe me I was not looking for anything free – I would never cruise with them again so free vouchers toward a subsequent cruise wouldn’t have mattered) and the cruise line’s disregard of our poor experience was really a turnoff. The food on our ship was terrible – the cafeteria in my dorm building in college had better food, honestly. The only thing either of us liked on that entire ship in regard to food was the french fries – hah! Though the food varies from ship to ship with any cruise line. I’ve always had great experiences with the food on RC, but for me Celebrity has had the best and been the most consistent.
I cherish my vacation time so our experience, plus the fact that I’ve never actually met anyone that has cruised with NCL and liked it (unless it was their 1st cruise), pretty much guarantees that we will not spend our time or money on any other cruises with this line. Some people may love it, but plenty of people love Carnival and that line isn’t really my cup of tea either.

This is the only cruise line we use. We have been on 6 cruises, 4 of them being Norwegian. Our wedding is going to be on a Norwegian ship. We love it and have never had any problems.

Hi @cat_webb83: first and foremost, I see you are fairly NEW to WBee so a Big Welcome to “the Hive”
For future reference…
You’ll want to note that the OP (original poster) posted this topic 5 months ago (shows up at the bottom of her post) and that her Wedding Date was August 31, 2013… (shows up at the top of her post)… so chances are good that she made her Honeymoon Travel Plans months ago and has come and gone (maybe even completed her honeymoon now)
Still good info for anyone else reading the topic… but might not always be the case (and therein lies the problem with digging up / resurrecting old or ancient topics)
I see your own Wedding is coming up in November… I hope you have a wonderful Wedding Cruise & Honeymoon on NCL… do come back to the HONEYMOON Board to post a topic, and tell us all about it when all is said & done.
Your experiences could certainly help out someone else who is busy planning.

About 20 family members and I went on a Hawiian NCL cruise a few years back. We all thought is was great, and I am pretty picky (almost OCD) about cleaniness and food. For what it is worth, it seemed fine to me. Food was not phenomenal, but good enough for me.
