I’ve never got it done (I will after the wedding though) but it seems like all my friends do and from what I’ve seen, healing time is quite quick but the redness sticks around for a long time and you are most likely going to get an infection of some kind within the first 3 months, especially if you get a cold which isn’t that great. Hope that helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve had mine done twice. The healing time for the initial piercing was LONG -about 6 months- but I think that was because I kept touching it and playing with it. The second time it was healed completely in about 4 weeks, but it was only red for the first several days.

ETA: If you’re going to get it done before your wedding, be very careful when doing your makeup from here on out. If you get makeup into the piercing it can get infected very easily and it will get red and stay red until it heals.

@MsInterpret: Just edited my comment to add that in ๐Ÿ™‚ The first time it was red for months, but that’s because I wouldn’t stop playing with it and not letting it heal. The second time it was red for a few days, a week at the most.

@MsInterpret: Oh yea that wouldn’t be a problem at all, I’d say go for it!! I love piercings and I love when brides rock their piercings and tattoos rather than hide them.

No one told me about the makeup thing when I got mine done, and I got liquid foundation into the piercing. Oh my gosh, that was gross.

@MsInterpret: Wow I am jealous! I want sleeves soooo badly. But knowing me, I’d get sick of them in a matter of months. I agree with your son actually, you should totally colour them!

That would actually be kind of a cool idea for a tattoo now that I think of it. Get just an outline and colour it different colours every day.
