ohplease :  I worked in a delicatessen as a part time job whilst studying. We had one guy who used to without fail make the same dumb joke 20 times every damn shift. Being a deli we’d have to obviously cut wedges or slice cheese for our customers. This guy would without fail go ‘I’m cutting the cheese’ followed by the most annoying laugh. It was seriously not funny after the first time.

We’ll I’m not usually thankful to fart ninja’s but someone dropped a terrible stinky silent one just seconds before this guy started to literally cut the cheese and say his usual dumbass joke. It was perfect timing just as he said it the most awful smell permeated the deli department. Everyone blamed him and he never made dumb fart jokes again. I don’t know who farted but I was  very thankful to their well timed silent number… 😂

Omg guys… I think I might be one of those people you hate crysurprised

I LOVE talking about food, and only chat about lunch with colleagues I would eat lunch with/who would choose to eat with me (on purpose)!

This has made me think though, I never knew people could be annoyed by lunch chat!? No-one has ever given any indication they hate it…

You guys – who are your co-workers?! LOL! This is crazy how invested some of them are in what you’re eating. And if they’re being judgy about it – that’s even more WTF.

My co-workers have never inquired, ever. With the exception of when I’ve had a protein shake or been doing a cleanse. I was doing cleanses regularly for a while at my last job and people were just curious (not rude) what I was drinking. That made sense to me, though, because it was unusual.

As a fellow introvert, I also hate small talk. At my previous job, there was a coworker who I liked and got on well with, except that she always asked me what I ate for lunch in front of everyone. Every. Day. She do it with this smirk and over-exaggerate the smallness of my portions. I ate different varieties of soup daily for ease, diet, and affordability (I was saving for a house back then – didn’t know Darling Husband yet). It was so annoying, because she’d say, “Oh, eating 2 mg of soup today, eh?” Or, “Oh, you’re going to have a fourth of a cookie? Bet you won’t eat dinner now!”

I’ve found it to be common that if you watch your weight and eat sensibly, people will always call you out on it, claim you don’t need to do it, exaggerate the extremeness of your chosen diet, etc. I have family that do it, I have coworkers that do it, and I have friends that do it. It’s so annoying.

Thankfully, for the most part, my team consists of men in my current job, and they are much better about it.

ETA: My own annoying coworker experince now is that there are two women in the building who sneeze frequently and loudly. One is a scream sneezer, and the other has a couple of sneezing fits a day. It drives me insane. They probably have allergies and can’t help it, but I still find it so annoying.

i have a coworker who will send you an email and then instantly come to your desk and ask if you saw her email yet. NO SUSIE YOU SENT IT 4 SECONDS AGO!!

She’ll basically read you the damn email word for word and then say “ok, so just read the email and let me know”. i would love to tell her “you know, the point of email is that you don’t need to walk over here and tell me everything you wrote. I already know I am supposed to read it and then respond without you reminding me”. She does it to EVERYONE though, so it’s not personal or anything.

beegoingstrong :  OMG ARE you one of my friends??? LOL My friends literally have the same problems that you are talking about and I do too but to a lesser degree. We are all into fitness (I am training for my NASM along with one of my friends) and my other friend has her Pro Card. She says it is the most infuriating thing especially when she is cutting for a comp b./c people will bring in donuts and be like ‘oh its just one’.

They don’t get it. LOL Ugh….

one of the latest annoying things is my coworkers like to start new email strings instead of replying to the one that I replied to asking a question.

The latest and greatest was a supervisor of one of the other depts answering a question I sent but did so replying to an older email just to prove a point that she had already asked a question before. To which I responded, ‘yes, you did ask that, and at the time that was not valid, but now it is’. I don’t think she liked that very much. I wanted to say ‘bi*ch I can’t read the future, can you?’.

She’s a hooker I can’t stand her.  She talks down to everyone, she has hung up on me several times, and treats me like I’m an idiot. It’s ridiculous. She is very ‘my way or the highway’ and ‘the world is black and white’. She will stop jobs because an I isn’t dotted to her level of perfection.

I do my best to get along with her but sometimes I want to give her a taste of her own medicine. A friend of mine asked me how my b*tch coworker was doing and I sh*t you not I said “actually shes gotten better”, no sooner had the words come out of my mouth that she sent me a nasty email.

Go figure!

I have a coworker like that too! She is obsessed with what everyone’s eating! She likes to say that I “dont eat” because I never partake in group lunches or if someone brings in a bunch of donuts, etc. If someone offers me food she answers for me like “Oh she won’t want it, she doesn’t eat” lol

This one girl at my work used to always do this to me! She used to comment on my lunch EVERY day which eventually turned into other coworkers noticing and teasing me about it as well (i usually eat quite small healthy lunches because I prefer bigger dinners/eating more on the weekend).

I also always said no to office treats and candy because I don’t handle sugar well, and she would always loudly make a comment about it that was simultaneously a compliment and a dig. It got to the point where I would just accept what was offered and then secretly throw it away.

She was always struggling with dieting and had a major sweet tooth so I think part of it stemmed from that. I don’t think it was malicious, but it definitely made me uncomfortable to have every thing I ate picked apart for 3 years. She got over it after a while for whatever reason.

avprobeauty :   beegoingstrong :  I’m right in there with you! I do timed nutrition and tend to eat super healthy (most of the time). So colleagues or other friends get confused when I say, “no, I can’t have a cookie.” They don’t understand how much one cookie can change things! And my Darling Husband is keto, so that’s a whole other issue with friends and not understanding “you can’t even have a small bit of (insert carb here)?”

But what they don’t know is that I make my own treat after dinner using ingredients that I can fit into my nutrition plan. Like sweets with stevia and almond flour. 🙂
