I so appreciate the honesty and openness of everyone who posted on this thread. With internet trolls I imagine it one might feel vulnerable posting details about something as sentimental as an engagement ring.

So I will share a bit too. I’m not engaged yet, but stones we looked at ranged significantly in price from 11k-50k. Ultimately, the 50k stunner was just too much for me to wrap my head around for daily wear (not to mention the steep price tag…) so we’re still on the hunt. To clarify, that is NOT to say that 11k isn’t a ton of money, it 100% is alot of money (legit a car). So on Saturday we’re looking at rings around 23k total with taxes, bands, etc. No idea what we’ll end up with, but I am enjoying the journey!

I don’t know how much FH paid for my e-ring, but when I purchased my wedding band last night (~$3,000) he commented “Thank goodness, I was afraid you were gonna spend more than I did.” so I now have a hint… Whoops!

Sorry about the horrible picture quality, but it was only $80. 7x5mm oval CZ with halo and eternity band. I adore it. I eventually want some (ALL of the) moissanite, but we have a lot more practical expenses than jewelry at the moment. (3 cars needing repairs within the last 2 months, a home renovation half done, etc, on top of the upcoming wedding) It’s so sparkly! I was afraid that it would look cheap or garishly fake, but it’s great. I can’t wait to get some better pictures taken when it comes back from being sized.

amariemgoodman :  You are so lucky! Could you show us the marquise please?

The pear ring is lovely, it looks like a great bargain. What is it? Moonstone?

Mine was $6k! Which was as high as I was comfortable going for a ring. The wedding band will be another 1k. I’m a happy camper 😁

First one was $15K. Second one is a little under $2K (moissy).
