Mine was around $8K and the matching wedding band was $990. That is a hell of a lot of money for jewelry to me, but I adore them.

The setting I picked is 2800, taxes and mounting included. The stone is a heirloom, so it’s free. I haven’t picked a band yet. I am looking at a band for SO that is ~1k.

It’s appraised for 42k, but he didn’t actually pay that because he got it at wholesale price. He also traded in his ex-wife’s ring at the same time, which was almost as big as mine, so he didn’t have to spend a ton of money at the time he got mine. Still, I’m very lucky. It was the biggest diamond I had ever seen in real life at the time he proposed to me.

I don’t have my ring yet (soon! He has it, I’m just waiting right now), but he let me choose everything because he was so relieved I didn’t want some $20k diamond ring. Tiny diamonds as accents are ok, but I got my favorite gem for my center stone.

The center is this utterly delightful lavender Montana sapphire, .72 carats and so astonishingly well cut!!

The setting is a platinum setting with hand-engraving all around it, pave diamonds halfway around on either side of the stone, and six hand engraved prongs.

The stone was $720 and the setting was $1399. Idk what tax was. I was honestly hoping to keep it under $2000, but I fell in love with the pave band once it was on my finger when I went shopping for the ring.
