I think it’s really interesting to see how much various rings cost.

My ering was $350 and Dh got it off Etsy as a pre-owned ring.  It’s 14k yellow gold with a .90ct oval cut sapphire in the middle with 6 diamond side stones.

The wedding band was $325 and is also 14k yellow gold with 5 3.5mm moissanites.

I’ve been thinking about getting them soldered together and resized in hopes they’ll move around less. I’ve just been lazy about taking them to the jeweler’s.

My e ring was $24,900 (US). I didn’t want him to spend too much on the wedding band since I won’t be wearing it that much. Because my e ring already has a triple shank I  decided to wear the band separate from the e ring on my right hand or as a stand-alone without it once we are married. we ended up picking a thin 3/4 eternity for about $470.

I have a “promise ring” that looks like an engagement ring (really just a ring I saw and wanted, we had been dating about 6mo at that point) that we got from the pawn shop for $695. My engagement ring is the rose gold band on top and it was about $300 on sale, and we had my wedding band custom made from his grandfathers wedding band and a ring my parents had made for my high school graduation and that band was about $1100.

my first was I think $5-7000?  I really don’t remember.  It was 1998, 3/4 carat with baguettes in platinum, then also had a band made to go with, platinum with three baguettes.  In total I believe it came to around $9-10,000.  Got divorced 6yrs ago, been with my boyfriend for 4yrs (today actually) and he wanted to get me a real diamond ring but with the size I want it would be stupid expensive and told him no way I didn’t want him spending that much…I own a house (he lives with me), have a 12 & 15yo, would rather use the money for something like a kitchen remodel.  He had been saving and that’s why it’s been so long and he hadn’t bought one, then as soon as I convinced him I wanted moissanite and not a crazy expensive ring he bought it the same day (currently being made I think…he should have it in about a week but who knows when I’ll get it…making me crazy!).

So, first .71ct center stone in platinum approx $5000

second 9mm cushion cut moissanite (so about 3.5ct) in white gold $1829

soothladywine :  The shop is called Rough and Precious. The rings have held up really well and the sapphires still look amazing!

10,000 we went to Jared’s the stone was 8k the setting 2k … I love it but now my dad has to pay for most of my second wedding g cuz fiancé spent so much on the ring…. it’s currently in the shop getting a 6 prong head out on (Mom insisted switching the 4 prong with a 6 prong platinum head because otherwise a large diamond could fall out) so here a pic of the setting now as it’s in the shop and the stone…

My pretty was about $8700 (or right around that price) GIA triple excellent VSI, 1.35ct on a platinum setting pave band. Everyone else wanted no less than 13k and that was for a white gold setting. Just had it appraised for 14k. I didn’t want him to spend over 10k

$1750

BUT it’s a family diamond, the $$$ was just for the setting. Not officially engaged yet.. we went to the jeweller last week to design the new ring. 5ct pear solitaire in yellow gold/thin band, it’s going to be gorgeous. I’m planning on doing 2 pave bands with baguettes on either side for my wedding bands. Now I just have to wait 3-4 more weeks! Or longer…. LOL

My original was $700 CAD and my new one was $1800 CAD. Both diamonds. My original is .40 carats and my new one is .54 carat. Not a huge size difference but my new ring suits my style and has a much nicer diamond. I’m waiting for it to arrive!!!!

My diamond is a GIA certified G color 1.2 ct rb, VS2, triple excellent cut with zero fluorescence. We got the diamond from wonder jewelers, and it was roughly $7200 since we opted for a wire transfer vs credit card (which added almost $700 more). The setting was from James Allen and we got that on a Valentine’s Day special for around $650 normally $950). Free engraving. The cost to set it into the setting was about $150. So roughly $8000. It is insured for $12,700 so not bad! My wedding band was from blue Nile and matched the mm of my e ring, and it was on sale from $300 to $200. We shopped wisely and did lots of research. I love my rings!
