People consistently call by my married name, even though it’s not my name.. You just have to let it roll off your back and smile. In the end, it’s not a big enough deal to make a fuss about. I generally don’t even correct people.

I don’t correct people. I just let it go. It’s too much of a hassle and I really don’t care that much

I generally don’t bother correcting people. Their assumptions don’t harm me in any way, so why waste my energy?

I’m not married yet, but once I am I don’t plan on correcting people. If anyone asks I’ll tell them my correct name, but if they assume, it’s an honest mistake and it won’t bother me. My mom kept her last name but if my friends ever called her Mrs. mydad’slastname she didn’t care. I think I’ll probably be the same way.

Nope.  and my husband doesn’t correct anyone who calls him by my last name either.

No, I don’t correct anyone.  The only reason to correct someone was if it was going on some sort of legal document or was work (tax or pay check name) related.

I will say, that as time has progressed –  more people get it right (I think sending our Christmas cards helped too!).

I’m not going to change my name in the foreseeable future, but I’ll go by his last name, if that makes sense. So I definitely won’t correct anyone.

Hmm, not sure what I’ll do when I get there.

My stepmom sent us monogrammed towels for Christmas…I guess assuming that we both will have the same last names after our wedding.  Ha.

I’m not married yet, but I don’t plan on changing my name. However, for simplicity I just used his last name on the favour tags (J + L Groomslastname) and we will be signing our thank you cards the same way. So I’m sure in the future I will get called by his last name, and probably our friends will send an invitation to us as the same last name, but I don’t plan on correcting anyone.

Very few people have actually called me by my husband’s last name, but when they do I don’t mind. I figure this will be a fact of life, especially once we have kids…I’m sure their friends will call me Mrs. Husband’sLastName, as that will be the same last name our children will have.

I only correct people if there it is for something “official” or to do with something professional.  They can’t find me at work if they think I changed my name.  In my personal life, I don’t correct.

To-date, poor Darling Husband has had to deal with it more then me.  I added him to my insurance and they listed him with my last name!
