G colour – never noticed anything but white if I’m honest!

mollieliv:  I am in LOVE with your T colored diamond!  It’s got such a unique soft lemon, buttery color!

Whitetoes:  I’m still waiting (im)patiently for a proposal, but here is the diamond which my boyfriend had reset. It belonged to his great grandmother, and it appraised as K-N and the gemologists decided to put it is a “M colored” on the official paperwork. It’s an early version of a round brilliant (so it’s not exact to modern standards, but it’s not an OEC or even a “transition cut”) and by modern standards the cut is only “Good” which actually is remarkable for a diamond of its age that’s never been recut.

Editing to add: I most notice it’s color from the side, but these photos make it look a touch whiter than it usually looks in person.  Once I have the ring on my finger (soon?) I’ll be able to take some time to take more true to life photos. 🙂

Here are some photos of it in various lighting. (sorry if the photos are huge)

My 1.12 carat round brilliant H I believe. I tried to get several lights for you. ☺️ He told me when he gave it to me that it was a little yellow but I haven’t seen it anywhere. (Granted this is my first and only ring–beside my wedding band so I am no expert.) But even he said he hasn’t seen it. I guess he only knows it because they told him/saw it for himself when he was selecting the diamonds.

ponyrider:  Thank you!! I definitely got lucky in the heirloom department! I think the coolest part is that I didn’t even need to have it sized. It fit perfectly already!

owlette22:  Thank you! Yes, buttery is such a good way to describe it. It looks different in every kind of light, and I still find myself staring at it even though it’s been on my finger for almost a year 🙂

Whitetoes:  This is just a loose diamond in a tension clasp. We bought it loose and my fiance is getting it set into whatever he wants! It is an H in color and it hasn’t looked anything but pretty white and sparkly to me! Here is a picture of it in inside lighting and outside lighting. The picture of it outside looks like the diamond has a blue tint but I think it is just reflecting the sky.

Mine is I, the side stones are G/H.  I can notice a difference in colour through the side, and in the car.  Mostly though, it faces up like the sides.
