Yes, you'll feel more like a bride

No, not if you're not doing a garter toss

I voted to wear one anyone. Unless you have something against garters that is! Even thought I am not doing the garter toss, what made me decide to still wear one was our best man and maid of honor. They are married to each other, and we stood for them in their wedding! We were taking about the wedding awhile ago, and he proudly walked into his closet and brought out a cute little box that he used to save her garter in. They also did not do the garter toss, but she wore one in hunting camo (because he’s a huge hunter) and showed it to him after the wedding. He loved it, and kept it and still gets it out to look at it. So I vote yes, because you can still get something out of a garter even if you dont toss it!

I’m wearing a garter but not doing a garter toss. I found a really pretty garter, but if I hadn’t come across it, I might not have bothered. At the moment I’m just wondering, if it sits on the thigh won’t it be awkward sitting over my suspender straps?

edit – oh hey someone has posted the link to the etsy seller I got mine from, of Florrie Mitton’s. I really like it, it came in a nice little box too.

I’m having a regular garter and a toss garter.  So yeah, either way I guess I would have one.  I just like them though and I’m going to get something to match it for later in the evening ;o)  I mean when else can you wear a garter besides prom and your wedding?

Strangely enough, I could kind of care less about the garter toss, but Fiance is adament about doing it!

I, like so many of you, gave in to my Fiance on this… He was SO excited about it for some weird reason. (I find it COMPLETELY embarassing. But Ill get over it. At least we’ll be married I gues….LOL) Anyway… I decided since Im doing it for him, I may as well make it interesting for him! I bought a Detroit Red Wings Garter set online. I love them! They are pretty AND have the logo he’d notice from ten miles away on it…. Since we’ve been together, Im almost an avid Wings fan too! So… GO WINGS… and yeay for the Garter toss….   Oh yeah! And, Ive always wanted to wear red shoes, so at least the Garter will match the  personal color scheme Ive got goin on. (Our actual colors are Black and White…)

As for you, I say… Do what YOU want! If you dont like the idea of a Garter, come up with some other sentimental item you could wear that he could keep.

I absolutely refuse to do the garter toss, despite the fact that it seems to be one of the traditions eevvvvvvvvvvvveryone in my family LOVES TO DO, simply because it makes me darn uncomfortable and I’m not one to ‘keep up with the jones’s.’

That being said, my FH  has requested that I get one for HIM, haha.

I think it’s a sexy little bridal trinket and a sweet, intimate keepsake, so I got one off etsy from this seller:

Also doubles as my “something blue” without having to do anything obvious. 😉

Wear one if you think it’s fun, it’s no big deal. But you certainly don’t need to if you aren’t doing a toss.

if you want when then i would get one!

i didn’t do a garter toss, but kind of wanted one until i tried it on with my dress. you can see anything under that thing, so i did without. we didn’t miss it, and honestly now we have so much wedding crap laying around that i don’t know what to do with, so i’m happy for one less thing.

There is no right or wrong. Wear one if you want, but don’t feel obligated to if you don’t want to wear one. Also, don’t let anyone talk you into something you don’t want to do, since it’s your wedding, not their’s.

Eh, it’s up to you.  They’re totally for decorative purposes anyway, even the brides that do toss them.  Don’t feel obligated to wear one, if you don’t, it’s just one less thing to worry about 🙂

I think you should still wear it and just have him take it off of you when you guys are alone.. it can still be fun but between the two of you

I wouldn’t go out of my way to make sure I have one, but if you happen to find one that you love then wear one anyway!

If you’re not doing the garter toss and you don’t want to wear the garter I think that’s perfectly okay.

If you like the idea of wearing a garter, get it. It’s cute and fun!

I’m not doing the garter toss either.  Because we’re trying to save as much money as possible I haven’t decided if i’ll get one.  I probably will if they’re not expensive but i’m going to ask some of my friends if I can use theirs as “something borrowed.” lol
