You sound so confident and sure of yourself thats totally great I’m sure that you are going to find the right person very soon and that it will work out when the time is right. I hope that every bride in a similar situation will be as strong and confident as you are.

GOOD FOR YOU! I think that your story is a testiment to how resilient people can be after a break up. You should be proud of yourself that you stopped that ridiculous cycle that he put you through and finally started listening to exactly what he was saying to you. He wasn’t the one, but you will find him one day and be even more sure that he was just a bump in the road. Be very proud of yourself. πŸ™‚

Sorry to hear about this. But you made the right decision. I’m positive that you will find the right guy for you, and that time he will be very sure of marrying you. *Hugs*

I’m sooo sorry that this happened to you, sweetie.  You definitely made the right decision and I really admire you.  It’s amazing that you can manage not to regret the year you spent waiting for him.. I can’t say that I would be able to say that.  The only regrets I have in life have been about people wasting my time, lol.  But you’re such a strong lady!  I know the right guy for you will come along in no time– someone who deserves you this time!  :o)

I wish more stories would end like this. I admire women like you. Women who understand that it’s not always a fairytale. Women who understand that they are number 1. No matter how much they think they love someone else, if that someone else is treating them with disrespect or not on the same page, staying with them is fruitless. And you realized the opposite. Staying with someone who is not head over heels in love and ready for this wedding is NOT what you deserve. Very best wishes to you!!! And, I’ll say, Congrats on your decision!!

That takes a lot of strength! I had to cancel an engagement, too, and it was hard! I hope you have wonderful friends and family who rally around you at this time. Glad to see you have your chin up!!!

@Happy714: You have an awesome outlook on this! And you know what? It IS a happy ending because you didn’t marry him, you’re moving forward, and you have no regrets! I’ve got a broken engagement on the books as well, and I know if I hadn’t been through it I wouldn’t appreciate what I have with my now SO. Your happily ever after is out there, and you’re now more prepared than ever to meet him!

You are so brave and confident.  It actually does sound like this story has a happy ending, just not the one you imagined.  Glad to hear you are staying strong and looking out for yourself.  you go girl!  Laughing

You are amazing. I love your confidence, and how well.. okay you are. Of course this is an awful thing, and I am so sorry that this has happened to you!! I hope that you have a great support system, but it sounds like you are ver strong!! Life is not always sunshine and roses and this is a good reminder of that.
