Sorry you are going through this. Is this how he is every anniversary? Or is he just being this way because of the fighting?

well I say try not to let the disappointment get the best of you.  Maybe he’s being sneaky and has something up his sleeve for you!

That’s tough. I hope things improve, and it’s okay to cry it out! If he would rather hang out with his friend than with you, I don’t think that’s a good sign. Unless it’s just because he’s a guy and likes to eat more. Wink

@glittermoon: First of all, I would like to start by questioning his fickle mood when it comes to favorite animals. A giraffe and now a walrus? Hmm…not sure about you, but my favorite animal is a favorite for a reason and likely will NEVER change. That has me wondering about his inconstant interests. Men can be boneheaded and challenging. They don’t always make the best or most selfless choices and I am honestly not sure why he would cancel your vacation for a dinner. Perhaps something more serious has given him a change of heart? Again, I would talk with him about how happy he is in your relationship and consider how happy you are. Engagements are not prison sentences and marriage is not an obligatory act. If you have doubts or regrets, you might consider if he is the right person for you to spend a lifetime with. Sure, you love him, but that doesn’t guarantee he is right for you. Not everyone knows how to love you the way you need to be loved. That doesn’t mean they don’t love you. It simply makes it impossible for them to satisfy you. Being disappointed by somone you love is a terrible feeling and if he isn’t willing to consider you, you might be let down regularly. 🙁

@boombacha:

agreed.  if he is frequently this way now, he won’t change when you get married.  Is this the type of life you want?
