That tough. My friend is Nigerian and she had this same problem. She end up compromising with her parents, by hosting a traditional reception with the large guest list 500! Then she had a smaller church wedding and reception a week later. Is it too late to do that?

If it is, maybe incorporating some aspects you wanted like by having losts of flowers?

I’m sorry you going through this, it’s probably really hard.

if it’s not the wedding you want, i can see how you are not happy.

when I went to the first bridal show, i thoguht it was the wrost thing ever.  i came home and asked my Fiance if we could just elope, i certainly did not want to plan a wedding.

it has gotten better.  once i booked all my major vendors, i felt better about everything.

however, from proposal to wedding will be 7 months, i can’t imagine planning this for over a year.

Me too. I feel for you! It is only a moth away. i guess the best advice I can give you is watch my big fat greek wedding a couple times, laugh, take a deep breath or two… And get through it. It’s nearly over and then you get to be married. Try not to take it too seriously. And I’m sorry.
