zoraneale :  every pregnancy will be different and 164 is good! My doctor said they were just looking for over 100 for the first beta.

zoraneale :  OK to put it in perspective my beta at 14dpo was only 23 and at 4 weeks 4 days it was only 153 so a doubling time of 34 hours.  I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant.  It doesn’t matter what it starts at, it just matters the doubling time.  It depends on when you implanted.  Maybe with your daughter she implanted early therefore more time for HCG to build.  You just don’t know.

There’s nothing wrong with that beta.

Mine was 26 the first time they tested…

zoraneale :  they said over 100 for my first beta which was at 4 weeks 3 days. The “normal” range is HUGE that’s why doubling matters most.

zoraneale :  The normal range for week 4 is 5-426. Seems to me you’re well in the range. I wouldn’t worry about anything until there’s something to worry about.

My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage and I had hcg level of 48 in the 4th week and then it doubled to 81 within the first 48hrs, but then failed to double appropriately afterwards.

My second pregnancy (I’m currently 16 weeks) I had hcg level of 42 in the 3rd week and in 5 days it had reached over 600.

Do you know your progesterone level? Those two numbers looked at in combination are more indicative of viability this early on.

zoraneale :  Yes I totally understand. I’ve had two losses and the waiting game is the worst! And not saying that your situation is bad by ANY means but I get the limbo feeling.

I’m sure everything will be ok; keep us updated!

just for a little levity….

I read the title of this post too quickly as “Not feeling great about beets”, and I thought to myself, “Jeez, just stop eating beets then”.

I was in the 40s with my first daughter and the 70s with this pregnancy (39 weeks).  That is a great number to start at.
