I had my last fitting today and picked up the dress (after the seamstress made some last minute alterations). I still like the dress but I’m worried that it’s not right for my figure and it makes me look bigger than I am. It’s too late and this point to do anything about it, so just looking for some moral support. Anyone else deal with this right before the wedding? How did you get through it?

@kellykellygg: We’re all our own worst critics, and especially at your last fitting it’s an incredibly stressful time! I was really hard on myself at my last fitting as well, but you know what? I looked and felt beautiful on our wedding day and Darling Husband thought so too. It’s just such a tough time anyway, and you worry about every detail, especially your gown.
I’m sure you look absolutely amazing! Can we see a photo?! 😀

@kellykellygg: honestly, I think it’s your posture in the photo thats throwing you off. Your shoulders are slouched forwards. Stand up straight and try it back on, it’ll look like a whole new dress, and good posture makes you look thinner.
And you DEFINITELY DONT need it, but I find wearing some spanks or other such undergarments do wonders for confidence – seems to me that’s all you need 🙂

@drA: +1000 Get some supportive undergarments and add a necklace that will go with the shimmer around the empire waist, put your shoulders back and enjoy the day! Congrats fellow September bride!

You really look great in that dress. But definitely stand up straight and maybe pull it up half an inch?

I can understand what you are going through. One would think that your fittings would have put your mind at ease about the look of the gown. So maybe something was missed during your appointments that would have helped you have more confidence in your dress style/shape. Its a pretty dress. I cannot tell but do you have on the correct undergarments? You may need one of those bras that lifts you up and squeezes your stomach. Maybe get the correct undergarments and quit slouching like someone mentioned. Maybe you need those thick dress straps? Those are easy to add and might lift the neckline if you are not slouching. Slouching shows self doubt in ones appearance, specifically your breasts. I used to slouch when I was a teenager and wear large shirts because I hated my breasts (they are D’s). I would slouch my shoulders to hide them. But now that I am older and more confident I do not slouch…but I had to learn not to do it. Fake it and walk down the aisle with you head held up and shoulders back 🙂

Thanks for the advice all. I have cups sewn into the dress but I think I’m gonna go with a bra instead. I’ll also definitely be mindful of my posture.

This dress looks great on you! It is very flattering and I think that if you added a good bra and like PPs noted if you watch your posture that it will be perfect!
