Remember me…2 mc’s in the last 3 months?
Today was supposed to be my ultrasound for the last one I lost. Yup, it hurts.
But, I’m not giving up. Finally starting feeling a little more ‘above water’ last week, and my Darling Husband took me away for the weekend which helped clear the air and helped us reconnect.
Feeling much more comfortable in my skin now, and at this point, still feeling hopeful that we will try again. In fact we’re going to wait until my cycle comes back – whenever that may be – and we’ll try again in the new year. And I hope it brings better days!
My doctor didn’t even want to test for anything until I have 3 mc. Until? …Unless. So that’s hard. But she said it’s still so common to have 2. My body is fine and Dr saw no reason not to try again.
So, we’re taking a break and going to enjoy the holidays and then see what the new year brings. I hope third times a charm! FX.
Thanks for all the wonderful support I received from the lovely women here. 🙂

@Sunshine09: So happy you’re starting to feel better! I was actually wondering about you this morning. Sending positive thoughts to you!

((hugs)) for all that you’ve been through and for your positive attitude!
Regarding your doctor, I would consider getting a 2nd opinion; it’s really not “common” to have 2 mc’s back to back and it might be something as simple as low progesterone, which early testing/supplements could fix. I’d either look into getting another doc or demanding that the testing be done as soon as you get your next BFP.

@inspiredcreations: thanks, I wondered about that too

@Sunshine09: As always I love your good attitude about things!!
Who would have thought getting your period when you’re TTC would make you happy but I did in fact have flo arrive this weekend and I am *happy* to see her return, 5 weeks post miscarriage and relatively on time. Having always had somewhat irregular cycles I’m happy to see this lady looks like she’s finally getting herself in check, coming on a pretty regular schedule and I’m hopeful for what’s to come going forward.
Regarding what your doctor said, I’ve also been told and have heard the same things from others…it is only if you have 3 that they start to test. What I plan on doing once I am preggers again is to request and all out demand if I have to bloodwork right away to make sure numbers are increasing, levels are where they should be, etc. I will at least hope they don’t argue with that, especially since my insurance is pretty flexible.
Since my next date to test will be right around the new year I will say 100x over…FX’d for better news in the new year full of sticky BFP’s!!

@Sunshine09: was wondering about you too just this morning! so happy to hear you’re more ok now. Have positive thoughts and it’ll help! Just before I started on ttc i read the INCONCEIVABLE book by Julia Indochova and I found it very empowering (I needed the extra boast because I’m 40 and have borderline Diminished Ovarian Reserve). There are many things we can do to improve our chances, though not guarantee them, but the book is filled with so much hope it helps. I’d recomend it. Its a quick read too. Best of luck to you and lotsa baby dust your way!!

I just wanted to say that I’m so sorry for your losses, but also thank you for your wonderful post. There are a lot of us on these boards that sometimes need a little inspiration and a vitual hug to get through this stage of our lives 🙂
All the best in the next leg of your journey, FX for an extra sticky baby next time around. 🙂

@TheNewlyMrsD: seeing flow come IS good news! A little reassurance that you’re reset to try again. My plan is the same as yours and I think it’s wise for sure – my Dr actually said that as soon as I do have another BFP she wants to see me right away to follow it and make sure my hormones are ok and all that. So that’s reassuring anyway. And I have a follow up in a few months for a general check and she did a pap test to check my ovaries and stuff as well as a blood test. Def do that with your Dr too!
@cjfs: thanks for thinking of me! I’ll check out that book for sure, I’m 35 so it’s not too out of the park for me esp with 2 mcs now under my belt. I’ve been looking for some good reading!
@ChuckNorris: thanks lady! always appreciate your virtual high fives 🙂
@StaceyA: Happy to share the journey, thanks for the sticky wishes* 🙂
