I have never set foot in an expo, and I don’t intend to. 🙂

I did buy Real Simple Weddings when I was first engaged, but that’s it.

I went to one in 2008 and I’m STILL getting spammed!

@tinarenee77: OMG KEEP WITH IT!  I hate them.  I went to a few with Fiance about 2 yrs ago and we are STILL getting calls from vendors, when the wedding date at the time was for LAST june/july.

I’m a bit rude when they call me though, so maybe that’s why they aren’t as common anymore.    =)

I wish I never would have went!

I’ve been getting spammed ever since; both in email and by phone calls and text messages.

I went to one in Milwaukee for a friend and may go to one in Chicago just to see what vendors they have.  But the more I think about it we have photo, video, venue, florist, Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, so that doesn’t leave much to go for.  Maybe to win free tuxedos. haha  The only really good part was the fashion show.  We found our Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses because of it!

We went to one and I swear I will never go to one again. Too many people! I hardly entered draws as I didn’t want to be spammed and called by all the vendors. We did get a couple inspiring ideas though. I say it would be better if there was an area to sit and have a drink! lol.

With internet and magazines I don’t think it is necessary to go, but if you need to book vendors you can get great deals at them.

I did go to one of the big ones here, with my then FI; now husband, just so I could have the experience of attending as a bride. I am in the wedding industry, so I wanted to see it from a bride’s perspective. We had a great time, but we arrived very early and only put our name and email on things that we were truly interested in.

I haven’t gone to any, but I’m the Maid/Matron of Honor in a wedding in September, and the bride went to two, and won a TON of stuff.  She won half off a photographer’s package, got a great deal on her DJ through the expo, and met her caterer there and got a deal through networking.  Not for me, but she sure benefitted from it!

I almost went, but then heard that they are not worth it and that they kind of trap people and mis-lead them.

I went to one, and wish I hadn’t. It was so crowded and pushy…and that is not my idea of fun. And I’m still getting so much spam it’s ridiculous. Wish I had been on this site before I went and seen the advice to set up a separate email address for all the wedding stuff.

I didn’t go to any. I’m not so fond of events that are all about the commercial sides of weddings…we needed some outside help for our wedding but we tried to keep it as minimal as possible.
