- Wedding: November 2011
So, the officiant. We were struggling to find one for a decent price when Future Mother-In-Law suggested a friend of hers. We met with her and it seemed to go well. She gave us a packet of 3 sample ceremonies, told us to pick what we liked, come up with our own if we didn’t like any of them or only liked pieces and get back to her. Well, we didn’t like any of them. So I have been scouring the internet for ceremony examples that we like and I finally found some. Well I have emailed her a couple of times and have not heard anything back.
Also just recently, I found out one of my favorite teachers from high school now an officiant! And she would do the ceremony for us for free! We paid Future Mother-In-Law friend $300.
I’m a little pissed. I have only talked to our officiant once since our initial meeting, and that was at Future Mother-In-Law wedding in June. (We originally met with her in January or February). We had made small talk at the wedding, but not much else.
I’m starting to get nervous. The wedding is in November so I know I have time, but it makes me a little mad that we paid $300 to a friend of Future Mother-In-Law, and haven’t heard a thing. So now we struggle with do we ask for money back and go with the other, seeing as how I have done all the work for the ceremony and she has done nothing? And do we go through Future Mother-In-Law first? It is her friend after all.
Help! Thanks Bees!
