So I had my first fitting and I was super happy but after reviewing some photos, I’m seeing a glaring “oh heeeell no”. So my dress has a kind of cummerbund around the waist that’s ruched and because my seamstress had to give the boobies support and tighten up the bust, it looks like its pulling up the fabric behind the cummerbund. I plan to call her tomorrow, but right now just feeling pretty deflated. What if there’s no way to fix it? It took me an obscene number of dresses to get this far, please don’t tell me I need to shop for a back-up

I certainly hope so. I’ll be going back in a couple of weeks with my sister when she’s free and I’ll address my concern with the seamstress then.
Maybe I should try it with a longline bra underneath? Not sure how that would work with the actual construction of the dress plus the cups already sewn in. Anyone with experience?

@salejolie: I am sure that’s an easy fix. It looks gorgeous though 🙂

It’s a gorgeous dress. Have faith in the seamstress! Good luck 🙂

Thanks for the comfort, ladies. I definitely have enough to worry about, I feel like I’m so behind with planning!

I would definitely try a longline bra! Sewn in cups are nice but they’re no substitute for boning/structure that really supports. I LOVE your dress, its lighter less-thick look is part of its beauty – I think it will look amazing with a good bra underneath! The cummerbund won’t pull like that when it doesn’t have to do a support job that it’s not really meant for. It may or may not work with the sewn in cups – probably would be fine with them.
