My wedding is about four months away and I ordered my dress back at the beginning of Sept. According to my order status my dress is currently on the way to the store so I should get it any time. When the woman measured me for my dress she told me I was between a 0 and 2 and let me tell you my mouth dropped! I never, ever, ever in a million years would have thought I could be measured that small (over the last three years I have lost 100 pounds and have been good about keeping the weight off).
This past Sunday I took my sister to the same store to get measured for her Maid/Matron of Honor dress and they had to order her an 8. She was an 8 in the bust, 4 in the waist and 10 in the hips! I know she is more top heavy than me but there is no way that my hips measured at a 2 and hers measured a 10.
I’ve been so worried since Sunday that they measured me incorrectly and I will not be able to fit my dress. I don’t know what I can do because I know if the dress does not fit I will not be able to get another one in time for my wedding. The more I read about wedding dress sizes the more it worries me too, it seems that most people actually wear a bigger size than their street size. I normally would be a size 6 so that doesn’t make sense. I am pretty sure they use the same size chart for the both of us.
The only thing I can think is that our dresses fit differently and my isn’t fit in the hip area like hers is. Did that ever happen to anyone? Your dress came in and it did not fit through no fault of your own (gain weight, ordered smaller and did not lose the weight you wanted)?
