- Wedding: June 2013
On Aug 19th, I’m throwing my parents a surprise 40th anniversary party. It’s in a really small town (where I grew up & where my parents still live) and my brother & I are trying to keep it low budget. I’m expecting around 80-90 people to show up. We are re-creating their wedding cake & ordering cupcakes too.
I’m not a good cook (ask my FI!! lol) so I don’t do it often. There aren’t really any catering companies in the area that I’m familiar with so I’d be cautious to use them. The party is 2 hours from where I live and I wont have time to go home for taste testing, etc.
What would be some good (and easy) foods to serve in large portions? We are thinking about bringing the grill and cooking burgers. I think we would be able to make some a few hours before and keep them warm since we will have a kitchen.
I was thinking pasta salad might be good as well? My brother mentioned chips & pretzels? Pretzels I was okay with but chips? Is that kind of cheap? lol.
I’m just really confused & I want it all to go well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! xoxo
