I’ll be 35 weeks on Sunday
First off I gained 5lbs in a week
Second my blood pressure is high for me (my normal is low) today was 128/92 I’m usually around 92/60
Third I have been swelling like nobodies business. Usually I notice it in the evenings and it’s gone by morning. Today is the first day that it’s stuck around all night, morning, afternoon…
He said the 5lbs is water weight from the swelling which he’ll now be keeping an eye on. Ok, I guess I’m down with that.
Then he listened to heart, and pointed out my lovely stretch marks. Yes, those appeared in less than an hour last week. I was not a happy lady.
He checked me, “not much change” then he said ” I’ll tell you what’s going to be really disgusting is if we have to induce you.” You’re kidding right?!?
Last night I had the one of the worst contractions ever, I don’t remember having one that painful with Cameron. He said if I have more than 4 of those in an hour then to get my butt to L&D.
Now I’m sitting here at work, feet propped up, contractions regular, baby girl is using my bladder as a trampoline and I swear I just saw a heel pop out of my stomach and I’m dizzy. Very dizzy. This has been a long ride.

I am sorry you had such a rough doctors appointment. I can’t believe what he said about inducing you – so rude! I hope your contactions and your blood pressure both calm down, and you can keep your baby in there for a few more weeks!

The wouldn’t it be ironic if… thought has crossed my mind many a time, but I didn’t need him to blurt it out!

I’m 38 weeks (barely) and just got diagnosed with pre-eclamsia and put on “rest” with another appt. on Monday. Yes, Monday. My Bridal Party has been high for about 3 weeks now and in the last week I gained 4 pounds (all water retention…so I hear you). She was talking inducing also…maybe I can see the end of the tunnel.

then he said ” I’ll tell you what’s going to be really disgusting is if we have to induce you.”
What does that even mean? Why would he say something like that? What is so “disgusting” about having to induce you?
I hope everything is okay. Sorry this has been so unpleasant the last few weeks.

What is with the OBs and poor bedside manner? What would be disgusting about induction? Its not like pregnant women dont have enough to worry about.
Sorry they gave you a hard time, look at it this way at least you are almost to the end!
