uh oh I’m scared now thinking of this. My ring is mixed metal – rose gold and white gold. What will happen if I want the white gold replated… will it also plate over the rose gold??? uh oh….

I’d love to be able to say that I won’t be replating mine, but as it stands, my promise ring was sized three time, and the plating last mere MONTHS before the bottom is yellow again. It really makes me crazy because the whole point of getting a white gold ring was because I’m not a fan of the way yellow gold looks on my skin.

I would love for my e-ring to be Platinum, but I’d be happy with palladium too. I don’t care what kind of metal it is as long as it holds up, and stays “white” like the day I bought it. Whenever I send my ring in to be replated, it’s usually gone for at least 10-20 days, and I do NOT want to have to deal with that with my e-ring/wedding band.

Perhaps I’ll learn to love the gold one day if SO buys me a white gold ring.

i wont be replating my E ring.  i really like yellow gold,  and my E ring is yellow gold with a touch of white gold on the shoulders.  when that whitegold rubs off i will probably see if the jeweller can remove the remaining white,  as i really prefer yellow gold.  but i had to have THIS ring because i loved the setting…

@LilaGrayce: I am replating my white gold e-ring into gold because it has to match my wedding wrap
