We had an August 25th wedding and sent invitations around the end of June.  We had quite a bit of out of town family, but still decided to skip save-the-dates anyway.  Our RSVP deadline was August 1st, but we didn’t worry about tracking anyone down until after the following weekend.

If I were you, I’d send out the invitations the first week of April, with an RSVP deadline of May 1st.  That will give you a month to turn in final numbers and make seating charts etc.

We had a June 21 wedding and sent them out early April, to be returned by the end of April. No STDs because of a 6 month engagement, and we wanted out of towners to have plenty of notice.

I did the same thing as @hisprettygirl.

We had a 6 mos. engagement, too, so we sent our cards 2 months before our wedding.  We had told friends/family earlier so they knew to prepare for our wedding and to spread the word.

Invites are typically sent out 2 months/8 weeks before.  Unless they’re flying halfway across the world, that’s probably more than enough time.

Now that I think about it, we meant to send them out in March but they got delayed. I think it’s silly to wait so late!
