That is so strange! have you thought of walking in there anyway? When i went to DB i didn’t have an appointment – i just went one day after work and it was quite slow in there.

We were in about a month ago for the first round of Bridesmaid or Best Man dress shopping (with an appt) and they were slammed. And we couldn’t really get anyone to help us – the girl assigned to us showed us a room and then got pulled away to help someone else, so I was the one clipping dresses, etc.

Maybe it’s just logistics. 🙁

Might be a really busy time for them. I know Christmas/NY is a very popular time to get engaged, and lots of newly engaged gals are probably getting their planning up and running now that things have calmed down. You could try walking in, but if they honestly are that busy it could end up being a wasted trip.

People are probably doing a lot of buying for summer weddings right now, maybe they really are slammed?

We went on a Friday afternoon, at about 4ish … and it was us and no one else in there.  There was a girl that just walked in and the staff almost knocked her over trying to help her out.   I know that you want to AVOID saturdays like the plague.

I’m sure they really are slammed from people who just got engaged over the holidays. They have a lot more brides-to-be come through on a average day than upscale salons do.

I tried to walk in without an appointment once and had to wait 2 hours to try on dresses.

I’d definitely make an appointment. I just made one to go in tomorrow to try on accessories with my gown that I bought at a liquadation sale.  They are probably really busy right now, like PPs said, with those that have just gotten engaged.  Just make an appointment during the week if you can, I agree it’s awful on there on the weekend!  I’ve bought bridesmade dresses there on the weekend and it was chaotic.
