I think I may have made a mistake with my wedding dress. I originally wanted an A-line dress, either very simple or with lace. Turns out I didn’t really suit either of these as much as I thought I would and I ended up getting a ruched fishtail dress. It looked amazing on, I looked very grown up and elegant. I loved it, my parents loved it, the shop owner went on about how great I looked. So we put the deposit down.
Now I’m thinking I made a mistake. I’m not sure about the fishtail and the bunching at one side. I think I may have jumped in too soon. I was getting sick of how much dresses cost (mine is £750), how rude shop owners were towards me and how I couldn’t find a simple style dress. The shop I bought mine from is lovely, the owner was very helpful and didn’t push me into a sale like other ones did. She wouldn’t have let me buy anything that didn’t look good on me, as she talked me out of another (more expensive) one that did nothing for me.
I’m not a fan of bling or ballgown wedding dresses, so this should be perfect for me. But I’m not sure anymore. I should add this came at the end of a very stressful week and I saw a picture of a beautiful lace dress, and it kind of upset me. I know I wouldn’t suit it, but I still got to me. Also, I have quite bad self esteem issues, so I think I look bad in anything. I probably need to go back to the shop to remind myself…
Sorry this is so long. Rambling! What do you think? I’m 5 foot 10 and a UK size 9 (US size 5). Here’s my dress.
