I am having the most difficult time finding a dress! I went to David’s Bridal and had a terrible experience. I don’t know what people are raving about when they go there!!! anyways i found this one, and I’m just need some input as to if it’s even appropriate for a wedding or not. I know it’s appropriate, I don’t know if it’s appropriate for the *bride* ya know? Anyways, here’s the link!

I flippin’ love this dress! They didn’t have this last year when I was shopping! I tried to find a cross-back dress but they are few and far between. I also went for a less formal look and the reality is that when you have your hair and makeup done you’re going to look like a beautiful bride even if you don’t have a big poofy dress 🙂 Do you have pics from when you tried on?
On a related note- I went to multiple David’s Bridals and it really depended on how busy they were and who the consultant was. Somes it was great and sometimes it was horrendous.

DB online selection is good and you do not have to deal with the ppl in the stores!

I really like it but it will be hard to find Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses that don’t upstage it. I am sorry you had a bad experience at DB. If you post a pic of yourself and your budget I could try to make some recommendations.

I think that we need more information. How formal is the wedding? What color are you thinking? What is it that you like about the dress and why did you originally choose it?

If you’re having a less formal/more casual wedding I think that’s fine. There’s actually another long Dessy dress that I thought about getting but decided I needed something a little more formal (fuller skirt, etc) for the wedding venue.

Obviously I would be getting the dress in ivory.

@sarahkap83: It’s not THAT obvious, sister. 😉 Tons of women choose to have colored gowns. I was THISCLOSE to wearing a color and putting my maids in white.
Anyway, I wouldn’t choose this dress for my wedding, but only because I picked the shorter version for my bridesmaids. It’d make a fine dress though… especially if you picked a good way to wrap it.

@sarahkap83: LOL I didnt know in ivory:) I assumed in white or ivory but ya never know! Are you having BM’s and if so, what are their styles of dresses? Seems like a casual wedding so far

Its a super cute dress – but it would probably be too casual for an evening wedding – the material is jersey (think a thinner, softer t-shirt). For an outdoor or daytime wedding though – adding some blingy jewelry or maybe some kind of embellishment on the waistband, its totally doable!

We are having a very casual church wedding. Our reception is just going to be hor d’vours in our church basement and cake and punch.
This dress doesn’t come in white. Ivory is the closest that it gets to white. I don’t have a problem with that. I’ll be ordering a color swatch befor ordering the dress just to make sure.
I’m not sure if we’re having attendants. I’d prefer not too just becuase we want to keep cost and formality to a minimum.
My mom and I were the only customers at David’s. My mom and I were the only ones in there for like the first 20 mins that we were there. They just had no respect for my budget or my style. When I told them my budget they tried to get my to sign up for a credit card. I’m sorry, but I’m not going into right before I get married. That’s kind of dumb, right?!
I have seen ONE beautiful dress online at David’s that I really love. I just really don’t want to give them my money after such a disasterous experience.

I think it will look great! And even if you had bridesmaids you could certainly find simple dresses that would compliment and not upstage the gown. Like a PP said, once you are all done up and add some awesome accessories you will look all the lovely bride! Great dress, I’m a sucker for a unique back!
