I’m not entirely sure how to go about this. We’re getting married at our local hockey arena and although I’m religious and very traditional, Fiance is not. We will be lighting a unity candle but I’m not sure on how to go about doing vows or if anyone should do any readings because it’s not entirely a “religious” wedding. We won’t be having a pastor either. It will either be a family friend who is an officiant or a JOP. Any of you bees have any suggestions?

@ArmyWife8806: We are working on our ceremony now too. It will be on a beach and a local minister will perform. She sent us some copies of possible ceremonies and I found some online. I think you can create your own easily. We’re choosing vows and may have a poem read by one of the family members (my daughter?). You can make it anything you want and combine traditional with new ideas. I like some of the wording of the old Anglican vows (“With my body I thee worship”) and will include those in the ring exchange.
