I think it’s really beautiful, and that you are super sweet for coming on here and getting opinions! You could always propose and then ask her if there’s anything she would like to change, and go look at other things if she’s not happy with it.

markpepper: You are welcome! I think it’s really sweet that you are being picky. It shows how much you love your lady, because you want everything to be perfect for her.

af123: She has no idea i am even proposing and we have never even discussed rings before. I didnt want to give her any hint that i’m planning on proposing by asking what rings she likes etc. I do think she would love it but i just cant stop thinking if i should have gone bigger. A bit stuck now really. The pave when looked side on looks like the bits cut out are ever so slightly deeper on one side than the other. Not noticeable unless look very closely but i do ๐

KittyNoire: She likes alot of different things. I know however that she would be happy with whatever i got her. Just me probably thinking i could have stretched the budget more and got something really impressive.

If she has no idea that its coming why not take it back and have them check the pave. It looks a bit off in the first picture to me but fine in the second.
In my opinion I think the bigger the bling the better, so if you think it’s a bit small chances are she might too. If you can easily afford it I would upgrade the center stone. I love the pear shape and the good news is they tend to look bigger than other cuts of the same carat size.
Im sure you are super excited to propose but why not wait a few more weeks just to make sure it’s as perfect as possible.

BWLE: Problem is we are going to a friends wedding in Croatia and then she thinks we are going straight to Sardinia for a holiday but we are going to Venice first and its a suprise and where i will propose. I am very tempted to take the ring back tomorrow tbh and see if they can do something for me before the wk end. highly unlikely though i’m guessing.

markpepper: It really is sweet of you to want to impress her, but remember that size of stone or cost of the ring isn’t a measurement of your love, so don’t feel like you have to break the bank for her to show how much you love her. I would say like carlsolindsay, propose with this ring and if she want something different, simply change it for a design or size of stone she is happy with. I still think this ring is fairly impressive, considering it has a beautiful fancy cut diamond teamed with a sparkly diamond-covered band… I’d say you’ve done a pretty good job already! ^^

markpepper: It is absolutely gorgeous!! Don’t stress, you did great! I’m also a big fan of pear stones (that’s what mine is) and I read somewhere that the pear cut is on it’s way out, so it’ll be rare for her to have down the line when it’s “extinct” ๐

markpepper: It’s beautiful!!! You know her and probably her style well and I am sure she will love it! Propose as planned and if you still want to upgrade, let her know she has the option of a slightly larger stone or changes to the setting and that you want her to be happy with it for life ๐ I am sure she will already die of happiness from the proposal and that added bonus (should you choose to add it) of being able to make small adjustments or give her an even bigger stone will make her beyond the moon. You’re sweet (and smart) to come her and ask! Good dude.

markpepper: Aww that’s adorable. In that case then use that ring to propose and tell her that if it’s not her dream ring you will go to the jewler together when you get back and work together to find the perfect one. I only say tell her this because there have been lots of posts on here about girls who were disappointed about their ring and didn’t know what to do. If you straight up tell her (and if you really mean it) than you will be covered! regardless she is a lucky girl. Good luck!

Update: I’m currently wearing the ring halfway up my little finger ๐ Does have a really nice sparkle to it when the lights in the house catch it. Think i’m warming to it. I know i will never afford something over probably 0.80 carat and i think i got a good deal on the ring £1750. Probably human nature to always want soething better.

I actually think that’s a beautiful ring! It’s simple and classy, but still unique. Nicely done!

I’m a small stone girl. I had the choice between 2 heirlooms, a 1.2 and a .25… I’m rocking the perfect little beauty on my hand. Size is a matter of style, not quality! Does she wear big bling? Or does she wear more understated jewelry?
