I need your advice and some tips and ideas, So my wedding is going to be up north and I have family coming from other states. Our little apartment is not big so there will no body stay there. I was planning to reserve a few room for the guests but not pay? What do you think is that alright? I dont know what else I can do should I reseve the rooms or ask if they need help finding something really confused on this whole thing…I feel really bad that they cant stay at our place…So far I will have 10 or more families out of state….thanks ladies

@KIKI25: Call local hotels and see if you can get group rates. Then let your guests know where to book to get discounted rates.

Unfortunately, that’s a part of making the choice in attending a wedding. When they accept to go to the wedding, they’re accepting that they will have to make arrangements.

We found a hotel that offered discount rates for events booked at our venue. On our wedding website, we also list some other accomodation options, and I know some family have already made arrangements to stay with other people in the area.
Usually to reserve a room you put down a CC, which could leave you stuck with no show fees. I’d call around and find out if discounts/room blocks are an option, and also talk to your Out of Town guests and see what their needs are.

Thanks ladies, I am going to call some hotels and see their rates how much they are offering and than probably reserve the rooms.
