It’s REALLY good idea to take prenatal vitamins at least three months prior to conception! Totally start taking them!

I got off birth control for health reasons about a year before TTC.  I was in a similar position as you, where it would be ideal to wait, but not the end of the world if we got pregnant early.  Neither of like condoms or felt they were necessary for us, so we just pulled out unless I was a day or two before my period was due.  There were no pregnancy scares for us, but I decided to start taking over the counter prenatal vitamins.  It is best to take them at least 3 months before getting pregnant to have the vitamins in your system, and I knew if we did accidentally get pregnant, I would feel so much better about it if I knew I was taking a prenatal.
