Did anyone use few to no flowers in their centerpieces and decor? We’re thinking about cutting flowers because they’re just so expensive, but I don’t know what to replace them with. If you did this or are planning to, show me what your centerpieces looked like and what you used instead??

- Wedding: December 2017 - Lake Louise Canada
We are having manzanita centerpieces on mirrors and floating candles rather than flowers. Like this but with hurricane vases below:
I might sprinkle some fake petals around but there’s no way I’ll pay for real ones.

Just a mock up, and there are a few variations on picture frames as well as two lanterns.
We will be doing something like this. Apothecary vases, lanterns, string lights, flameless candle, mercury candles. Although there will be a few sprigs of dried lavander in the tall vase, and one big bud in the short vase, and maybe some lichen around the lantern.
Here is it all lit up:
Hope that helps!

Have you searched Pinterest and online generally for “nonfloral centerpieces”? There are lots of ideas out there.
Do you have any theme that could be a starting point for ideas? e.g. books for a teacher ?
lantern with colored candle instead of plain white or ivory
mini pumpkins (seasonal)
items from the dollar store spray painted white
It doesn’t have to be one or the other. You could use single blossoms- inexpensive and requires no skill to arrange

I’m having a beach wedding, so we will do seashells and sea glass etc instead of flowers. Don’t have any photos yet, as my wedding hasn’t happened, but I’ve been googling “seashell bouquet” to get an idea

I had flowers, but I got them from Costco + vases from dollar store and they were like $200 for all the tables. We had them like every other seat or so. they were simple but good enough. I love flowers, but they couldn’t take a high priority in my budget! here is a photo of them in case you are interested.

This photo is from when we were setting up, so it still looks a little plain, but they had glass jars with lights in the bottom, filled with those beads from florists that soak up water. Looked so pretty!

Flowers have such a ridiculous cost!
I chose potted orchids, much cheaper than going through the florists! Used them on the window ledges in the the church as well as on the tables in the reception venue.
